The overwhelming majority of the time this works well. We use 2 different sized papers and an extra drawer allows for easy printing from either size without needing to change paper. Occasionally (maybe a few times every few hundred sheets) we see a "wrinkled" pull, even when crisp paper is loaded accurately - I'm not sure if this is from the drawer feeder or the printer itself but lean towards thinking it might be the fault of the drawer randomly not feeding accurately.

I bought this because I got tired of feeding business envelopes in the top feeder. So, it is a relief to have this. Anything to help business be easier and more efficient is great! Very easy to install. It took a few minutes to select the correct tray, but I got it! I am using this along with stamps.com to print envelopes and it works great! A+

THE 500-SHEET FEEDER IS A STEP-SAVER. Instead of running to the printer once an hr or more often when printing tax forms, I can go at least an hour between paper refilling.

Muy útil para impresoras compartidas por equipos de trabajo: permite tener una bandeja con A4, otra con A5, e incluso A6 en la manual.Es una pena que sea difícil encontrar información precisa sobre los modelos a los que se añade, tanto en la web de HP como en las descripciones de los vendedores. En impresoras, sirve para los modelos M402, M404 y M406. En multifunción, al menos para el M428.

If you can fit this tray in your budget, get it, it's solid, it works and, will save carpet/floor and shoe wear if you catch my drift. Love this thing!

I added this lower tray to an HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428fdw multi function printer. It was simple to install (just remove the packing stuff and sit the printer on it), and the printer recognized it immediately without issue. If you need the extra capacity or routinely want to print on two different kinds of paper, this does the trick. And it even has a molded "3" in the plastic to compliment the other trays (see picture).
