About this item

  • BLOCK UV & IR RAYS FOR SHARPER, CLEANER IMAGES – This UV/IR cut filter eliminates unwanted UV rays below 390nm and IR rays above 700nm, which digital sensors often can’t filter. Improve color accuracy and image clarity.
  • MULTI-COATED GLASS FOR CRISP, REFLECTION-FREE RESULTS – Engineered with Hoya’s premium multi-coated optical glass minimizes reflections, ghosting, and lens flare. Whether you're photographing outdoor scenes or filming under bright lights, enjoy better clarity, contrast, and color fidelity.
  • ENGINEERED FOR UNFILTERED CCD and CMOS SENSORS - This is important because unfiltered sensors are extremely susceptible to UV and IR rays just outside the visible spectrum that can have a very negative impact on image quality.
  • SCREW-IN DESIGN FOR EASY, SECURE ATTACHMENT – The precision-machined 77mm thread ensures a snug, hassle-free fit to your camera lens.
  • SLIM, LIGHTWEIGHT FRAME TO AVOID VIGNETTING – Built with a slim, durable aluminum frame, the UV/IR Cut filter prevents vignetting.

Product Description

These filters offer both amateur and professional photographers HOYA's famous quality at reasonable prices. They have multi coatings applied to both surfaces to suppress reflection and increase light transmission. HOYA's UV IR Cut is a specialized filter that has the ability to cut out both UV rays below 390nm and IR rays above 700mn resulting in just the light rays in the visible spectrum passing through the filter and into the camera. This is important because CCD and CMOS sensors are extremely susceptible to UV and IR rays just outside the visible spectrum which have a very negative impact on image quality. The result is a sharper image with more depth, finer, richer colour graduations and a reduction of the effects of atmospheric haze to an even greater degree than a standard UV filter In addition, the filter is multi-coated, which greatly reduces lens flare and ghosting, and the slim frame helps avoid vignetting on super wide angle lenses. And of course, this filter will protect your lens surface from dust, moisture and other contaminants.

Ce visse et ce dévisse facilement. Faible épaisseur, pas de vignettage. Filtre efficace.

Bought for a full spectrum modified infrared camera. Although the filter blocks some of the infrared spectrum it still is letting a lot of IR through. My Kolari IR/UV cut filter working much better.I would go with another brand if using on a full spectrum modified IR camera to use for normal photography

I crossed Australia filming 30+ days and use it every single day, with no issues, scratches or anything, I love it and want another one for convenience with my other lenses.

The filter is used on an 18-55 Canon EFs mounted on a Canon 1100d full spectrum modified. The image IMG_4104 (the red one) is the file as exported from the camera and the IMG_4104-2 with white balance correction in Lightroom (NO OTHER ADJUSTMENT HAS BEEN MADE). In my eyes the image with the WB corrected is as good as taken with a "normal" camera.

Purchased mainly for astro-imaging. Functions perfectly so far for my standard photography. No astro-imaging yet due to inclement weather. Probably deserves five stars.

The Hoya 77mm HMC UV-IR digital multi-coated slim filter perfectly fits the lens of my Nikon D700. While I haven't yet been able to actually try it out, it came highly recommended to me by a professional. I suspect I won't be disappointed.

This is a GREAT product. Even the person who gave it TWO STARS SAYS SO. Can't understand people sometimes. Anyways, I got this to work with my black magic pocket because of IR pollution when using ND. Works like a charm.

I am using this on my digital with a built-in zoom. I use UV filters to protect the lens - had never used a UV/IR filter before, and I was a bit concerned about its effect when I realized it has slight color reflections in light. However, it is working very well. It certainly hasn't degraded my photos, and I would say it's probably improved them. It's a high quality filter. I recommend it.

Filter is very well made and performs as it should I notice a little vignetting of color but that may be a function of the lens and filter together at widest angle setting.
