works pretty good. I use this for an experiment where it was circulating hot water. Function. Fine. 24 hours a day for three weeks as I needed it to. comes in the metal casing seems to be built quite solid.

Winter is upon us and it's time to have the recirculating pump installed. I do not like to waste water by leaving the hot water tap open and wait for hot water to come to the bathrooms that's really located on the top floor. This pump alleviated the concern by installing on the water heater line and then installing a bypass under the bathroom sink. This setup allows water circulate around from hot water side you the colder within the piping network. This saves water that gets wasted into the drain.I also added a hot water sensor, a shutoff switch for a solenoid valve that I added within the DIY bypass. A smart plug was also installed for the pump that works with Google app. I have setup the automation schedule which turns on the pump at at running and turned off after couple minutes as the hot water reaches the sink and gets 32 degrees c.

I’ve had a dead recirc pump needing replacement for a couple years that’s already plumbed in about 5 feet from my water heater. This was basically a drop in replacement, quick and easy to install. The old one was always on when it worked and the option to have this on only when a tap is open is a big power saver, and likely will lead to a longer pump life too. It works great and it’s nice not having to let the tap run to get hot water quite as long. So far so good and it’s just been a great pump.

This hot water circulation pump by CRESTWAVE is very convenient and trouble-free. I have a couple of hot water circulation pumps that work off of a different concept. Basically, they pump 24 hours per day (some have timers to tailor operation to certain time slots), and you need to have remote thermal valves at each location that you want hot water to be quickly available. This pump operates a bit differently. When set to the optional "Auto" mode, it is always off UNLESS it senses water motion (i.e. a hot water faucet is opened and/or when the remote thermal sensor valve(s) call for water by opening up when the hot water supply cools off). The "always on" option means instant hot water, but also a very significant elevation in your electricity bill, in addition to lots of wear and tear on the pump for running 24 hours per day.The "Auto" option basically pushes hot water faster and at a greater volume to the destination but only runs when needed, saving electricity and wear & tear on the pump.Review for: CRESTWAVE Hot Water Recirculating Pump, Auto/Manual Recirculating Pump for Water Heater, 125W 115V Automatic Recirculating Pump, Dual Control Hot Water Pump for Domestic Hot Water Recirculating System 2410-083

I ordered this hot water recirculation pump for my kitchen remodel because I have always had a problem with how long the hot water takes to reach the faucet. The faucet is approximately thirty feet from the water heater, and it takes almost a minute for me to feel warm water. This pump (along with a sensor valve I ordered separately) solved my problem. I am still experimenting with the difference between auto and manual mode. I now have it set for auto, which works well. I am unsure how it will behave during the winter, so I want to try the manual mode when we begin to experience freezing temperatures. The product description provides little detail except that this pump requires a 120-volt power source. At first, that was challenging, but fortunately, I was able to install an outlet in the water heater closet because I found a nearby circuit in the attic. My overall experience with this recirculation pump has been very favorable. I cannot rate durability and longevity because that will only be known in the future. If the description is correct, this device should provide many years of trouble-free service. If you are in the market for a hot water recirculation pump, you owe it to yourself to consider this product.Note:It would have been nice if the manufacturer had provided a timer feature allowing the pump to operate at fixed intervals during the day when hot water demand is higher. This feature would be a hybrid option between the auto and manual modes.
