I’m always on the lookout for small appliances with low wattage for times when there is no electricity due to a power outage or when we’re camping. This Knhuz cooker has been a convenient tool and a nice addition to my arsenal of backup appliances.- Using the higher temp setting I was able to boil 2 cups of water in about 7 minutes. The boil was not hard rolling but more of a medium rolling boil and I found this preferable to avoid boil over once I added the ramen. When I used the low temp setting there was a medium simmer after 20 minutes and after 30 minutes it was still a medium simmer. After I had finished testing it dawned on me that I should have been using the lid to bring to a boil and that would have significantly reduce the times.- My next test was using the cooker with my power bank. I didn’t try using the higher 600 watt setting since my power bank only goes up to 500 watts. Using the lower 300 watt setting I started off making a cup of teriyaki glaze. The sauce came to a hard simmer within three minutes and after another minute of simmering the sauce was completed. Next I sautéed 1-1/2 cups of diced vegetables on the low setting and the completion time only took about 7 minutes. I have an electric stove at home and the low setting of the cooker is equivalent to a setting of 4.5 of 10 or medium-low on my regular stove.- The steamer tray is a nice addition and came in handy to steam rolls and pot stickers. The pot doesn’t separate from the heating element for cleaning but the non-stick coating makes cleanup easy enough just wiping it out. Since there is an easy to grab handle I didn’t think to touch the sides of the cooker to test if it would burn my fingers. The cooker comes with a plug-in cord for a regular 110 outlet but it would be nice if a 12v cord were included as well. For storage it would have been nice to include either a bag or a silicone cord to wrap around and hook on both sides of the lid knob. The size of the cooker is small, but definitely not mini, and can cook a single batch of ramen no problem and the dual power settings and steamer tray gives this cooker more versatility. This cooker is nice to have in the kitchen when needing a small unit for side dishes, sauces or steaming veggies. I’ve been able to use this cooker during a power outage at dinner time when I had to use a power bank and also while camping when space is limited and I can’t bring along full sized appliances but the small size of this cooker is manageable.Handy little unit when cooking for one or two.

You can cook ramen quickly, stir fry, cook steak, steam dumplings/vegetables - it’s a Jack of all trades! I can eat much healthier and it’s less expensive than ordering food all the time.

This is a nonstick electric hot pot with stainless steel steamer in grass green, from Knhuz. This little hot pot wasn't so much a need for me, but it is undeniably convenient for making things like ramen, oatmeal, and canned soup. It's nice that you can plug it in and heat up your food anywhere, you don't have to be standing at a stove in a kitchen. It has a low heat and a high heat setting, and both work well. The high heat especially will bring your ramen broth to a boil very quickly, then you can turn it down to the low setting for it to simmer until it's done. For canned soups or oatmeal, it's nice to not have to worry about them overflowing or spitting and making a mess in the microwave, and they still cook in about the same amount of time as in the microwave. The steamer is optional and sits right on top of the hot pot. You can steam things with just water in the pot, or if you're boiling another liquid (like broth or soup) in the pot the steamer can go over that. The glass lid is made to fit either the pot or the steamer. Cleanup is very quick, I just swish it out with soapy water and rinse (do not immerse the pot or you'll ruin it). So even though I didn't really need it per se, I really like the convenience and I think it's a good value.

I can see how this would be perfect for a dorm, rooming house or anywhere that you can't or don't have full size appliances.Wondering if there was much difference, I cooked skin-on chicken thighs, one in my small air fryer and one in this cooker. I started skin side down in the cooker, realizing that the heat source is on the bottom where in the air fryer, I started skin side up as the heat comes from above the food. I waited a reasonable time that there would be a sear on each piece, and turned them over using tongs. Well, I will say that this item, the cooker, did slightly burn the skin - but I don't necessarily fault the product. It's simply that the food item was closer to the heat source than the one in the air fryer which wasn't burnt at all. Also note I had the cooker set on high, so had I put it on low setting, I think it would have been perfect. So I think so long as you keep that in mind and make sure to cook like you should around that idea, your food will turn out well.I will say that both chicken thighs turned out honestly about the same.I didn't use the steamer basket. I'm kind of an anti-veg person, so I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of that part of the cooker. I'm interested to see how it will work as I try to come up with creative keto "noodle" dishes. Keto ramen? We'll see.Overall I would recommend this as stated for someone who lives in a dorm (it's perfect for that!) a rooming house or if you happen to be in an apartment that for certain fire codes, cannot include a stove.
