I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR A WATERPROOF (PEE PROOF) TAIL BAG FOR A COUPLE YEARS NOW. I USED A BAG THAT WAS SO GREAT, SIMPLE TO USE, BUT CANNOT FIND THEM ANYMORE. TRICK TO KEEP THIS BAG ON IS, AND LIKE MOST, FIRST, DOUBLE THE BRAIDED IF LONG WITH A BAND, KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF THE BAG. TIGHTEN UP THE STRING AS TIGHT AS YOU CAN BELOW THE TAIL BONE. WRAP TWO, THREE, FOUR TIMES AROUND ONE OF THE 3 BRAID SEGMENTS, THEN VELCRO. I HAVE HAD TWO ON HORSES FOR AT LEAST 2 WEEKS NOW. THEY HAVE BEEN STALLED, TURNED OUT, AND RIDDEN. STILL IN. MAKE SURE THAT THEY CANNOT STEP ON IT WHEN BACKING UP, OR PLAYING IN TURN OUT TIME.

This didn't stay in my horse's tail due to the tie off style of this tail bag.

Love the color combination and very durable for my very active, very prone to mess, mare.

Comes with zero instructions and can’t get it to stay on. While I have never used one before there are still no instructions.

Velcro will not stand up to a swishing tail. The longest it stayed on was 3 hrs. Highly recommend a snap vs velcro

Got these to protect horses tails from the nasty winter weather. They stay in good, But I ended up cutting off the tassel/fringe at the bottom. Horses rolling in the mud got the fringe clumped up with mud and made it heavy. Cut the fringe off and it’s good to go!!

ProsFits well on my 15 hand horse (15-3) with a not-terribly-long taileasy to put onlike the fringes to help with fly swattingeasy to cleanConsthe velcro is easy but also can get stuck on the hairNeutralWhen she was lunging and swished her tail it startled her-- not sure if it made a noise or the feel, and it's quite possible, perhaps even likely, she'll get used to it
