The o-rings used to hold them on broke after the first trip. Losing one of them completely. Seems like a great idea, but they need a better solution for holding them on to the rod.

Sadly, I have a few decent fishing rods that do not have a fish hook holder. I don't know why. I've used similar products in the past, but this is a better design and execution. It has twice as many bands to hold it to the fishing rod, so it is much less likely to come loose or shift. It's longer with plenty of room to secure your lure. I don't see any value to the magnet except maybe for temporary use when you're trying to get something out of the way.

Over the years I’ve used several different products to do the same job, keep your hook in a safe position on the rod without damaging any equipment and/or flesh. I can honestly state that this idea has been the best one yet, for me.The package contains 4 hook holders and enough O-rings, in two sizes, for all of them. The hook holders seem very well made, no rough edges and not flimsy at all so they feel very solid when on the rod. The positioning is very adjustable due to the two sizes of O-rings. I like that because I’m right handed and my wife is left handed we prefer the holder to be on different sides (not important if you just like yours on the very top or bottom).The part of the holder that sits on the rod is rubber or a rubber-like material so I don’t expect any damage to the blank. The little magnet is much handier than I expected because if does give me just a little extra help holding the hook if I need to re-position it to slide into the holder.What I’m not crazy about are the O-rings. White, really? I know it’s easy enough to find some darker color ones or ones to match the rod but I think I’m going to make a more longer lasting connection anyway, regardless of the color. Just to be clear, my ding is on the color, which stands out more than I prefer. I’m not criticizing the manufacturer on the quality of the o-rings.All in all, a well made product that is extremely affordable and useful so definitely a recommend to buy for me!
