Paid a little extra for the Honeywell name, hoping that it would pay off in the long run. Seems to run fine. Been going for about 6 months with no problem now. I would definitely buy again.

I am sure you have read all over that Ring Pro needs a decent transformer. The one in the house was just not powering enough. Its been only 2 days that the new transformer is in, but I am able to "answer", "watch live" the Ring Pro with significant less lag than before. The voltage on Pro after replacement is consistent between 3920 ~ 3975 mV (Pro recommended range). I will come back and update this review after 2-3 weeks to let you know how this has been working.This transformer can be foot mounted - for those folks looking at the packaging and trying to decipher how to mount - just screw the transformer feet on the wall where there is solid backing!

A must for anyone installing a Ring Doorbell Pro. Very simple to install this device. Made from quality materials. More expensive than other available units, but worth the few extra dollars.

This is usually used for furnaces, but check what the max voltage is for your door bell and its within range, go for it. I have 2 Enviz door bells (HD under the RCA name - No monthly fees!!!) I was able to get 1 working most the time, but the other failed repeatedly... In two days, both were out, what the heck... I checked the transformer and it was dead as a door nail. I made sure to over buy for its replacement and its barely warm to the touch and both are now 100% reliable. WIN!

Works well for powering my Ring doorbell. I replaced an original transformer that would have been almost 20 years old and had been powering my existing ring, it was underpowered for the Ring and eventually burnt out. This one has been installed now for almost a year and I've had no issues at all.

I used this to replace the original doorbell transformer installed by my home builder. That transformer apparently didn't output enough power to dependably operate my new Ring Video Doorbell Pro AND the original (vintage 1987) doorbell chime. Although my existing doorbell wiring was fine, it seems the Ring Pro unit needs about 30 volt-amps to maintain a bulletproof WiFi connection AND drive my original mechanical doorbell chime. That chime worked fine without the Ring Pro installed, but would no longer "ding-dong" with the video doorbell wired in. My back doorbell button (without a video unit) would still successfully "ding" when pressed and temporarily disconnecting the Ring Pro once again allowed the front door button to generate the expected "ding-dong". My original transformer was only rated at 15VA, and when I replaced it with this one (rated at 40VA) everything works fine together.

Replaced the 50 y/o transformer in my Mom's old Holley brand furnace with this. It is very similar to the original and works fine.The recommended local HVAC guy said, over the phone, he would not repair a 50 y/o furnace, and would charge $3K minimum for a new furnace.Since we are planning to sell the house "as is" this year, and new owners would likely do a lot of updating; probably move the furnace location and add central, we didn't want to invest in a new furnace. I should also note that though 50 y/o, the system was dealing with mild Southern California weather and relatively light use.

My furnace transformer blew. It's a 20VA, 24V/120V transformer. The part is not available from Homedepot, Canadian Tire, Rona or Home Hardware. I found this 40 VA Honeywell which can handle double the power and decided to give a try. After I installed, it worked great. Because it is more powerful, I should have no problem installing a digital thermostat that takes addition power from the transformer.

Highly recommended. For anyone who buys an ecobee or smart thermostat and has only two wires to their furnace or boiler and needs to run new wire, this is a godsend. I tried to hire someone to install it but ran into timing issues so I did it myself. It was fairly easy. This transformer is a step down transformer to 24v, the perfect amount for a thermostat. It comes with a large electrical box mounting bracket that enables you to easily mount it onto an existing or new box. I wired mine to an existing junction box and then put in a small junction box to join up the two wires (red/white) from my boiler to the two new wires (yellow/blue) coming from this transformer. My ecobee4 is now powered by this transformer and has been working fine for a week. This transformer can be mounted in three different ways and comes with complete and easy-to-understand instructions.

I just purchased the second of these transformers in about 3 1/2 years. The identical unit which I purchased in June of 2014 just died (a stinky, smoking death it was).You might wisely ask "why buy another if you think the quality is less than to be desired?"My answer is simple: the location of my use is easily accessible for replacement of the unit and the conduit runs were made with this transformer in the middle of things. Easier to replace a transformer than reroute conduit.And with a Contrary to the assertion of another reviewer (and earnest praise heaped upon Honeywell--for not outsourcing this product to China), the praise was unearned. It is made in China. I am attaching a photo of the dead 2014 version.

Ah proof that some Chinese outsourced CEOs haven't managed to completely screw up the electronics industry with junk made in China. This is a really nice quality and hefty transformer--not your cheesy Chinese humming along cross talk plastic junk--this is the good stuff, like the old days when you actually got more than what you paid for. Nice job Honeywell--maybe you can lecture the other CEOs on the many reasons you don't sabotage your own country-people to line their pockets at our expense? This is quality akin to Magnetic Components, Hammond and Heyboer. Not as pricy as Mercury Magnetics, but sold and built like a tank one expects from a name like Honeywell. No compromising America with this company. Weighty and even comes with a mounting plate for vertical or overhead mounting like next to a fixture or inside a properly marked junction box per-code. This is the good stuff.
