I purchased a keyless door lock 2 years ago. 6 months ago, the number 8 on the keypad stopped working so we could not use the code number we wanted to use. Last week it froze in the locked position, even the key would not unlock it. I had to take it apart so I could re-install the old handle/lock.I purchased this because I thought Honeywell was a good, name brand product. I now need to order a new keyless door lock and I will not be buying another Honeywell product. We are very disappointed with this lock.

Terrible product. Do not recommend. We initially purchased it his keyless lock at Lowe’s and had it installed along with our new doors. After only a few months, the inside doorknob became loose and would come completely off the base every time the door was opened from the inside. In February of 2024 we purchased a replacement here on Amazon. It’s now been just over a year later, and half the numbers on the keypad are not working. We have tried all the troubleshooting steps from replacing batteries, factory reset, etc with no success. We have been using the key to unlock the door and the key is so flimsy that my husbands bent after using it 2x. This was not a super cheap purchase and I always believed Honeywell to be a quality product but after this experience, I wouldn’t purchase again or recommend this product/brand to anyone. It has been nothing but a headache.

There is a catch in the mechanism that prevents the knob from moving freely. When the door is , any anount of pressure on the bar locks the knob in place. The pressure of the weather stripping against the door was enough to make the knob lock up. When I pulled on the knob to take pressure of the latch so I could turn the mechanism, the knob came off in my hand.It took almost no effort to pull the knob off the door.I had to use pliers and a flathead screwdriver to make adjustments to the connecting hardware so the knob would stay on while I pulled against the weather stripping hard enough to release the mechanism so I could turn the knob, open the door, and walk to my trash can to throw this piece of junk away.Overall, when I spend this much on a knob, I expect better hardware than this. My Schlage only cost a few dollars more and held up to all kinds of abuse over the years. It also weighs twice as much as the garbage knob I just removed. They say you get what you pay for...that isn't always true. This knob was not cheap.

Updated: (March 24, 2024) So, upon further investigation which entailed my husband disassembling the whole piece, he found the problem. When he first installed both devices, he unknowingly had the wires pinched behind the mounting bracket. Over time and use, these wires began to be cut into, causing a short. Of course, this would cause battery drain and affect the keypad. Splicing the wires and taking greater care in reassembling fixed the issue mentioned below.Quit working within 9 months. Four years ago, we bought a set of Schlage similar to these. We never had a problem with them. We bought this set for our new home, thinking Honeywell would be a decent substitute(couldn't find a set of Schlage We liked locally and within same price). Huge disappointment. I only had to change the batteries in the Schlage set twice the whole time we had them. Seems like I had to change batteries once a month in these(yes, fresh batteries). Last month, the #3 on the keypad quit working on one lock. Today, it has happened on the second lock. Yes, we've tried clearing out the codes and resetting, but still won't work.

I had my son install this on the man door to my garage. It is sturdy and easy to operate.

Bought this when we moved into our new house. Should have installed it right away but you know how hectic things are when you're moving in. Anyways, went to install it today (10 days after the return window closes) and it doesn't work. I'll clarify: the keypad has spots that are unresponsive. Some of the buttons just don't work. Factory reset didn't help.So if you plan on using the key to get in and not the codes, you're good to go. It also looks great when installed.

This is a great set! I love that it has an automatic locking feature, I looked at much higher priced locks that did not include that. I also love that you can put in multiple codes. Each of our children has their own code. The thought process is that if they tell someone the code that they shouldn't, we can change just their code instead of everyone's. Helpful hint: if you overtighten the screws that connect the two halves of the lock together, you can "jiggle" the door handle a bit and it will unlock. My husband likes to get things as tight as possible, and I thought the lock was defective. I loosened the screws a bit, basically to what a normal tightened amount would be, and have had absolutely no problems since then. Just a heads up in case this happens to you!
