This Honeywell L7224U-1002 Universal Electronic Oil Aquastat with EnviraCOM Communication electronically monitors and controls circulator, burner, and boiler temperatures and provides electronic temperature sensing in an oil-fired hydronics heating appliance (not included), and is UL recognized. The device is EnviraCOM communication enabled for use with the Honeywell EnviraLINK service (not included) for remote monitoring. It offers multizone control and offers accuracy up to +/-2 degrees. The low limit can be disabled for cold start boiler applications. The LED display provides diagnostic and status information. The Aquastat mounts directly or remotely, vertically, horizontally, or flush to a surface.

This was a perfect replacement for my Honeywell L8148A that lost the low limit differential. The new unit is programmable so I can lower temps and differential during the summer and reset to normal settings in the winter. Programming is not too difficult and in this day and age, having a simple Video instruction would be helpful. Happy with the purchase!

Easy to install even for a novice. As long as you’re an average As long as you’re an average do it yourself homeowner. ..Simple programming directions. I changed my triple stat within one hour. Had the oil burner back up and running with no problems.

Furnace Aquastat failed on Saturday afternoon of a holiday weekend. No HVAC supply stores open on weekends, let alone Monday, Labor Day. Ordered Saturday night on Amazon through a third party, fulfilled by Amazon. Delivered Monday, Labor Day, morning. Installed and programmed within an hour of delivery. Heat and Hot water back in service!!! Amazon went above and beyond with getting a crucial component for my tankless oil furnace. Couldn't have been more satisfied with the service and speed of delivery. Lifetime customer from here on out. Thank you for all you do. Another satisfied customer!!!

Direct replacement for unit on our Peerless oil burner. Old one showed Err4. Looking online found troubleshooting & if voltage is not correct on B1 unit is bad. Replaced with this unit. Easy install. Took pic 1st then moved 1 wire at a time to new unit. Boiler fired 1st time.

My old aquastat's circulator control relay had failed and my oil-fired baseboard radiators were heating rooms very slowly with the water circulating via convection only. This was an easy replacement and solved the problem. The digital display showing boiler temperature and settings feels more modern (at least into the early 90s :) and hopefully it's reliable with fewer mechanical parts.

****UPDATE**** (Follow up) This was in service for around 3.5 months after the installation back in January of this year. Worked great into late April and then we serviced the boiler for the summer break. Yesterday, 09/30/2015 we brought the boiler back into service and the Aquastat failed (Err 3) that's the code. "Hardware Fault": Replace control.... The conditions are well above suitable for this device and it was only used for 3.5 months. I know of several other people who have had this model and had the same issue now that I had to research beyond the purchase end and into the review and trouble shooting end. At the time it was the choice to replace our older model and compatible, however time tests everything and the follow up feedback to me is as important as the purchase feedback. We will see if Amazon return Dept. and Warranty group make good or they get Honeywell to back their product. The Honeywell Technical Dept. was a waste of time also. Hope this helps someone out. The product was purchased right here! I will also follow up after I find out what the outcome is with my contact with Amazon..... (1st Review Purchase) This is a vey good unit. I had a failure on an older model. I purchased this unit as a direct replacement for my old unit. I only had to take the quick connections off and I just bent the card holder clips and removed the old card and placed the new electronic card in its place and reconnected the leads. Works great. For a replacement of a basic gas fired boiler Aquastat, does far more than is required, but is easy to install and setup. I will keep this in mind when doing other hydronic installation/repairs. The price is also not as scary as one might think, considering its capabilities.
