Nice color and material but zipper doesn’t stay zipped. They should add some Velcro tabs to keep the tension from spreading the zipper. Also collects pet hair. May need to spray with anti-static spray to help stop this annoyance.

Clearly some other reviewers had a different experience--perhaps past manufacturing issues. The one I received is well put together and the zipper worked easily. You do have to be careful while zipping it up not to catch the zipper on the fabric. Much easier to put on than the other "sock" type varieties. Also, the exterior is much smoother than the sock type and seems to collect less dust. I cannot yet say whether it is really durable, but so far it seems reasonably rugged.

Update (2018.05.08): The zipper just broke. Looked up on Amazon to order a replacement. Lasted almost a full 4 years.=============================Purchased ~ August 2014.Product works very well. Material is soft, there is a zipper, which has a cover over the hard part of the zipper, and then the sock covers that cover. If this is installed straight on, or slightly twisted (like a barber sign twirl), it works great. Just be careful not to let it 'bunch up', this exposes the zipper more, and you risk having it scrape against something. My hose is 32'. the 30' sock doesn't cover everything, so I purchased a 35' sock, which was too long. By twirling it like a barber shop sign, I was able to get it almost to perfectly use the up the 35' along the 32' length of the stretchy part of the hose. Odd that my hose isn't 30' nor is it 35'.

I live in a relatively new home. My main concern with have a central vacuum system in our home was the potential damage the hose would cause going from room to room. With this product, I have no more worries! The quilting keeps the hose from being dragged around corners and causes no damage to the baseboards, drywall, paint or wall paper! I actually and intentionally tried to make the hose, with the cover on, dragged it around a few corners in our home. Not one bit of damage at all! Thank you for a wonderful product idea and wonderful product!

I purchased this to replace the one that came with my hose. It also had a zipper and the zipper always pulled apart as i was vacuming. This one said it would fit and had a cover over the zipper, which I liked knowing that way the floors and walls would not get scrated. Well it wont even zip up. Its to small. It is not coved on the zipper as the picture shows. Now Im stuck with it since I thew the sack away that it came in I can not return it. DONT BUY THIS. You will not be happy. It dosent fit my beam hose.

My intitial review of this product was extremely poor. The first item I received was only 33 feet and couldn't even zip up the whole way. After a quick e-mail to Amazon, who contacted the seller, the seller sent me a new one and it fits perfectly. It's 35' the whole way and zips up very nicely. However, the version I received had no flap to cover the zipper. While my hose is protected, my walls are only protected sometimes. The zipper will still scrape some good corners.

We found this longer hose sock for our new central vac. For this price, it can't be beat. The colour of it is closer to a navy, and the material is similar to that of a sleeping bag. It was very light and doesn't add weight to your hose. Some of the other reviews stated it was a tad short...you just have to pull hard to fit the full length, but it is long enough. We are really happy with our purchase.

Compared to many options on the market, for the length of this hose sock the price is very attractive. Also the full-length zipper makes installation *very* convenient compared to the true "sock" type covers that require threading the full length onto the hose. The zipper is well covered by a fabric flap. The main worry I had when ordering is whether the zipper would be a risk to scrape or scatch furniture compared to the sock style with no zipper. So far I have had no problems at all with the zipper being exposed, or damaging furniture legs or molding. The only down-side is that there's not a very easy way to adjust the length. There tends to be enough play however for my NuTone hose that it can scrunch up a bit on each end to accommodate a slightly shorter hose.
