This is very good quality. It fits my little French bulldog puppies very well. Easy to clean and worth every penny.

They SHOULD make a lid/top for this whelping box. The miniature dachshund 6 week old puppy climbs out. I ended up making my own top. Otherwise this item is fine. I would buy an optional lid if they offered one.

Works very well for my newborns the great is plastic and a little large, so poops don’t really fall down between the grates it kind of gets stepped on and then goes down. It’s nice that it can attach to the cage. Also on top if you have other dogs.

Within minutes of being whelped, 2 puppies had to be extricated. I have had to fashion bumpers around the entire inside perimeters to keep them safe. This is a serious problem with this whelping crate. The rods that are supposed to hold the plastic trays underneath are too short and will not stay in. The trays have to sit on the floor.I love the concept of this design because it made it easier for me to sit and assist in the delivery. Also, the pups should be able to stay in it longer.I hope this input will help in a redesign of the problem areas.

I recently purchased 2 of these whelping boxes when I found myself in a time crunch and unable to make my own. Initially, I was concerned that they would be too small for my English Bulldog and that they might not be able to support her weight. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were sturdy enough to hold not only her weight but also mine (I weigh 110lbs) as I need to sit in with her to allow the puppies to nurse.Another worry I had was the bar spacing for my Corgi's litter. So far, it seems to be fine, but I am considering adding something solid to prevent any potential head or limb entrapment. While the whelping boxes have been functional, there are a couple of drawbacks. Firstly, I feel that the sides could be 4-6" taller to provide more security (see pictures, I used additional cage parts to construct a taller wall and create a safer environment for the puppies). Additionally, there is no opening for the mothers to get in and out on their own. It would be perfect if one of the smaller side walls could flip down to allow for easy access. As a result, I find myself lifting the mothers in and out, which is quite a workout.Overall, these whelping boxes serve their purpose in a pinch, but there are a few improvements that could make them even better.****Updated review after 5 weeks: Unfortunately, I've observed that the support bars on this whelping pen have begun to bow, causing some inconvenience when removing and reinserting the trays for cleaning purposes.

My dog is 18 years old. He is blind and can not hear. He is also having issues urinating. This cage has been a life saver. It's large enough for him to move around, I can roll him anywhere in the house with me. It was a easy set up and easy to clean. Very good quality.
