Not compatible with enough devices

As of this date, May 2024, the regular price of this item is $99.00. Without any available discount or coupon at the time.Additionally, this is a One-Day delivery item with Prime, perfect for a last-minute gift or purchase!I had the opportunity to test the Homey smart home hub, and unfortunately, my experience has been quite disappointing. While the product promises to unify your smart home and offer seamless control of devices from anywhere in the world, it falls short in several key areas.Firstly, the setup process was far from smooth. Despite following the instructions carefully, I encountered numerous issues connecting my devices to the hub. It was frustrating to spend so much time troubleshooting and attempting to get everything to work properly.Even after finally getting everything set up, I found the Homey app to be clunky and unintuitive to navigate. Simple tasks such as creating flows or controlling devices felt overly complicated and unnecessarily cumbersome.Additionally, while the hub claims to be compatible with a wide range of brands, I found that many of my devices were not supported. This severely limited the functionality of the hub and made it difficult to truly integrate all of my smart home devices.Furthermore, the inclusion of a three-month Homey Premium subscription feels like a blatant cash grab. Charging users extra to access basic features such as connecting more than five devices and accessing insights seems unfair and exploitative.Lastly, while the privacy-first approach is commendable, it doesn't make up for the overall lack of performance and functionality of the product. Ultimately, I cannot recommend the Homey smart home hub based on my experience.

absolutely worthless when trying to add 888 SmartCode Electronic Deadbolt with Z-Wave Technology. considering DR Horton installed these on 1000's if homes this is unexceptable. So if you have a DR Horton home with this zwave deadbolt dont bother. will not work. will come up as a unkown z wave device. informed by Kwikset to get a aeotec hub if you do not want to pay monthly fees.

I may or may not work; you can’t tell what it’s doing.

The newer, very expensive "Pro" model which isn't yet available in USA is required to do most things. This version is barely more useful than just the app itself.

Big problems so far. Have not been able to work with SmartAssistant, it does not login. A lot of problems reported on the Internet. So far 2 technicians tried, but to no avail. It just will not pair with Alexa and My Weiser Smartcode 10 lock. Amazon delivery was perfect. A third technician will try to work things out shortly. If he does not succeed, unfortunately, I will have to return it eventhough it looks good.Andre Bergeron

There are some interesting things in the homey space but it’s so inconsistent on what’s supported and so awkward that somehow it made me appreciate Alexa routines… and those are not good. I didn’t mind paying a monthly fee if that supported good UI development and robust ecosystem. And maybe in Europe where homey started it does. But almost anything worth doing requires their Homey Pro that’s 6x the price. And given the gap between marketing and reality for this one, I’m not going to pay $400 and hope it actually works.I think that most of the things I want to do can we handled via Shelly relays. And since every hub brand wants me to be a programmer to do very basic things (open blinds and turn on fan when it’s warm in the room and it’s the morning). I might as well just do nodeRed or HA.I was really hoping Homey would bridge that gap but the number of skills that might have made it work that were restricted to the pro version (which is unavailable right now in the US)… not there yet. Maybe in a few more years.

Wanted a device that could tie some of my smart home devices together so I could operate them easier -- and didn't want to spend a ton of money. I was able to connect my SONOS, TV, lights, thermostat and door lock easily in the Homey app. I don't have a ton of smart home devices to connect, so I like that if I do buy more smart devices, I can just upgrade to the premium app version for a small monthly subscription. I also like that Homey isn't making me their product and seems concerned with user privacy -- which is a big reason I got rid of Alexa. Set up was fairly simple and I like that I can now use the flows on Homey to set up my SONOS to start/stop playing when the lights switch on and off. Going to try setting up some other flows this weekend.

Despite trying to avoid these kinds of devices for years, we decided to get one and we really like the Homey Bridge. It was easy to set up with the app, and although I had a few issues syncing with our main smart TV and a couple of other devices, it's gotten so much easier over time. We were able to easily connect our Kasa smart plug (which is very important in our house). One of the features my partner enjoys is the energy data it displays so he can track how much energy our home is using. Lastly, I like how light it is and how little room it takes up.

Impressed with the Homey Bridge and its software, which has a standout feature called "flow" for true home automation. Setting up the Homey Bridge was quick and straightforward, and the interface is simple and user-friendly. While some smart devices like Sonos and Spotify were quickly identified, I had to manually search for and add others such as WiZ, Yale, Samsung TV, and Google Nest. Despite this, having access to all my smart devices in one app is incredibly useful, and I no longer have to waste time searching through my iPhone apps. Overall, the Homey Bridge has made managing my smart home much easier.

I’m very disappointed in the Homey Bridge. I purchased it because it was a Hubitat and SmartThings hub alternative. While this is true, there is a significant difference.Homey requires a subscription if you have more than 5 connected devices. Just 5. I only found this out once the box arrived and could not be more disappointed. Almost every single person that would be interested in a Homey bridge will have more than a paltry 5 devices. You’re essentially forced to pay Homey to use the smart devices you’ve already paid for, on a hub that you also already paid for.As if that wasn’t bad enough, you cannot use this device unless you’re invited to their closed beta. They sell the devices, but there is no way to join the beta unless you’re invited. So until that time comes, you have a paperweight. It’s terrible. You would think that as a paying customer with device in hand you’d be granted the ability to use it, but no. They simply tell you to wait. Why bother selling the devices on Amazon if that’s the case?Even if Homey bridge were not in beta, the only benefit to buying one instead of Hubitat or SmartThings Hub is the lower upfront cost. The problem with that is the fact that Homey will cost more in the long run due to their forced subscription.
