Replaced the original backflow preventer installed by my builder, and this one works much better. No more water shooting out when I turn off the hose. It handles pressure changes smoothly and is easy to install. Highly recommend for anyone looking to avoid the mess and ensure better water flow control!

Tip- if you are replacing a faulty unit, do not install the set pin with the new one. They are designed to break off and when you need to replace the unit later, and you will, it will be easier. You will be glad that you did.

Works to prevent hose back flow from entering the house water supply. As a tradeoff, you get water draining from right under the spigot, which is not necessarily ideal.Unit feels decently-well made. Threads into a spigot cleanly.The set screw is useless.There are cheaper options available.

I bought 3 of these to replace older (10+ years) ones that had started to leak. I will be replacing the little set screw with a stainless set screw that takes an allen wrench after the trouble I had getting my old, broken not stainless steel set screws out of the old pieces. Once in place, no more leaks!

These replace originals installed at home build which had developed a terrible squeal from water flow.After replacement the squeal is gone but a few seconds after shut off, the valve leaks a small amount of water. Apparently this is normal for all vacuum break valves like this.

If you use the garden hose it blows water out the vacuum breaker every time you stop. If you turn on a sink in the house it blows a lot of water every single time. It seems to blow water constantly and you start developing a puddle underneath it. I ended up paying the $16 and buying the Moen version at the local big box store and it works so much better.

They are the same as the much more expensive ones for less $$$. It comes with a 5mm screw that will break at the groove as intended because it is required by most codes. However, one could replace that special screw with a set screw and when the Vacuum Breaker eventually brakes, (they all will do) will be easy to replace. The seller ships fast, I recommend this product and the seller.

Installed on 2 exterior hose bibs to prevent backflow from garden hose into local water well system. Work as intended and no leaks. Super easy to install; break off lock ensures backflow valve isn’t inadvertently removed.
