I read all the reviews so I kind of knew what I was getting into. I only mixed half of the package into a gallon of paint as a couple of reviewers suggested. That was plenty of texture. I had to paint the wall twice to get even coverage because some places there was a lot more texture and some had a lot less. Going over it a 2nd time really helped with that. After it dried, the semi gloss paint that I used only looked semi gloss in some areas and flat in others, it was EXTREMELY rough. Like scrape your arm if you get too close kind of rough. I didn't like that very much so I lightly sanded with a fine grit then painted again with the same paint but without the texture mix in. The texture looked and felt much better after that. Finished, it looks like standard orange peel which is what I was going for. I started in the laundry room so if it didn't turn out well it would still be ok. I'm glad I practiced there. I have now moved on to the rest of the house and will be buying more because I want everything to be the same. Good price. Good result.

Very easy to add to paint. Make sure you mix the paint and sand thoroughly. I even would stir it around when I needed to pour more into the paint tray. It perfectly matched a sand texture ceiling that was done in the 1960s or 70s. I recommend adding it to a primer paint and then after drying paint over with your final color. Primer paint tends to be a little thicker and the sand particles stay suspended in the paint better and won’t settle to the bottom of the paint can. I repaired a large crack using this and there is no visible sign of the repair.

I was hoping to match the texture additive I had previously used. This was a very fine sand like grain and not what I needed. Totally my fault. If you’re looking for sand like texture this product was very easy to mix and apply. Delivery was quick and instructions were very clear.

It worked for the purpose I needed it for but i highly suggest priming the wall first. The sand will accumulate in any spackling.. Any issue with wall. We removed wall paper and scrubbed walls. There still must have been some glue residue and the sand really accumulated there as well.Walls do look better than what they were.

Easy to mix, tip for future user's only put the amount in your roller pan that you can use quickly, before you pour more make sure to mix it again as the sand will settle at the bottom.....good stuff though

Got the job done wonderfully. I went to lowes looking for this, didn’t have any luck and the texture additives I was finding at home improvement stores wasn’t what I’d hoped. This comes with more than enough for two cans of paint. I was able to use half the package for each can. It helped cover the flaws in our drywall nicely. Highly recommend!

Overview:As described.Experience:Followed directions, results as expected. I used a standard 3/8" nap roller. Only mixed what I could use immediately. Hid all the minor imperfections on an older wall, and allowed me to match look ( close enough at a glance) on an adjoining new wall.

This stuff really works just needs a measuring cup that can be used to put the right amount in your paint
