About this item

  • SIZE 10.5-13 BOOT SOCKS: Our thickest alpaca socks ideal for cold weather, made to stand against the coldest temperatures. The perfect fit for facing the bitter cold, or warming up post-outdoor adventure. Made with 70% Premium Peruvian Baby Alpaca Fiber, 27% Nylon and 3% Spandex. Available in grey and black and a variety of sizes for men and women.
  • FOR EVERY ACTIVITY: Softer and stronger than most other materials typically found in socks, alpaca fiber continues to prove it can withstand a wide range of activities and adventures. Whether you’re looking for hiking socks, hunting socks, running socks, thermal socks, warm socks, winter socks, ski socks, or just a pair of cozy socks for work or relaxing - the benefits of Hollow alpaca socks will keep your feet comfortable.
  • LIGHTWEIGHT & BREATHABLE: Compared to traditional merino wool socks, alpaca fibers have better insulation properties at a lighter weight. The hollow fibers help regulate any temperature, keeping feet warmer or cooler for much longer periods of time. Alpaca fiber is a unique material that can wick moisture, to help keep feet dry and endure long wear.
  • HYPOALLERGENIC & ITCH FREE: Because alpaca fiber is lanolin-free, our alpaca socks for men and women are hypoallergenic and itch-free. The structure of alpaca fibers is not only soft, it also helps provide a cushion against callus buildups, that may help with blisters and foot health.
  • MADE IN THE USA: Our baby alpaca socks are soft, comfortable, and crafted for easy cleaning. Simply wash in cool water and hang to dry. Designed in Wisconsin by outdoor enthusiasts, and made in North Carolina

  • We chose alpaca over traditional merino because when we put the two to the test, we found that alpaca fiber has better moisture-wicking, and thermoregulating properties. Our feet stayed drier and odorless for longer.

  • Absolutely. Alpaca fibers have excellent thermal properties, providing warmth without bulk. They trap heat efficiently, keeping feet warm in cold conditions. Many people find alpaca socks are warmer than wool socks of the same thickness.

  • Yes, alpaca fibers naturally wick moisture, which helps keep feet dry. This moisture-wicking property is ideal for preventing sweaty feet and blisters, making alpaca socks a great choice for both outdoor activities and everyday wear.

  • Hollow Socks are designed in Appleton, Wisconsin, USA and manufactured in North Carolina, USA. Hollow is operated out of Appleton, WI, USA.

I finally decided to try a pair of Hollow socks and they are definitely warmer than merino or other style heavy hunting socks. However, when I wear these in my waders they fall down and bunch up around my ankles and toes as soon as I start walking. Even if you pull them up they quickly fall down again. I wish I had not spent the money. UPDATE: I’ve tried to return these socks through the Hollow website and cannot get past the AI assistant. Therefore I cannot set up a return for the socks. Very frustrating for a company that says they have a 99 day return. What good is it if you can’t complete the return process!

I’ve been a wool socks fan for a long time. I tried Hollow alpaca socks and absolutely love them! This company is the best and their products are top quality. The socks are warm, soft, perfect amount of stretch, and go plenty high up the calf. The boot socks are much more ‘beefy’ for those heavy activities where you wear boots. They completely resist water and snow. Most other companies skimp on the material, but Hollow socks do not do that. I’ll be buying this company products exclusively moving forward. Don’t buy the knock off alpaca socks, stick with a top quality company like Hollow.

I know these are expensive but they really work. Wore them for four days in single digit temperatures while hunting. My toes still got a little cool but nowhere near the bone chilling cold I get with wool socks.

First, I don't write reviews so you know I must be really impressed. I wore these socks to a football game at 14 degrees over the weekend and my feel remained toasty the entire time I was there. They are super soft and very comfortable. No sweating at all. I ordered a size up and they fit great (XL for size 11 man's foot). I was leery given the price and being disappointed in the past with products but these were even better than I had hoped for. Well worth the price!

I bought these in the boot length which seems to be a bit longer that most boot length socks I own but not quite as long as I would consider over the calf length. The things I like about these socks are the wool seems to be of excellent quality. They are quite soft as you would expect from baby alpaca wool. After wearing them all day under boots they were dry and still warm and comfortable. They pull on easily and appear to be sized correctly. The only thing I don't like about these socks are they start to fall down soon after putting them on and I'm sure this will get worse as they age. This isn't a big problem for my lace up boots as they won't go any lower than the top of my boot, other than the fact that they bunch up near the top. I certainly wouldn't want to wear them with something like cowboy boots as they would be around my ankles in short order. I do like my Darn Tough boot socks better, but they are more expensive and aren't as soft as these.

These socks are the best socks I have ever bought. I live in Vegas and wore them during the 100+ degree weather and my feet didn’t feel hot. Now that the weather is cooler my feet don’t feel cold wearing them. They are soft and fit just right. I love the thickness of the socks as well. Overall while they are on the expensive side, I would say they are worth getting. They are my everyday sock now. You can wear them multiple days in a row and there is no bad odor to them.
