I will update my review once I have used the machine on a job, however, I can not believe for $250 a hard case is not included. I can see this would be easily damaged in the truck or in storage, so now I'll be paying to buy a hard case separate. From bad to worse. This may be the worst power tool I've ever used. Fiddling with the drive depth for 40 minutes, unable to get a consistent countersunk screw! 1/3 are set good, 1/3 are over-driven from 1/8" to point of blow through, and 1/3 "clutch out" early and are left sticking 1/8" to 1/2" above drywall! So now, I have to change tools and use my regular cordless to fully sink the screws! After messing around for over TWO hours and getting only 2 sheets of drywall up, I will be returning this tool. I would have gotten twice as much accomplished just using my screw gun but now that I have several pails of collated screws, I'll probably just get the Senco. All my tools are DeWalt but they don't have a gun that will go to 3" screws. I also see now this model has been discontinued by Hitachi - and I know why!

BUYER BEWARE! Ran it for 3 hours and then it stopped driving screws. No obvious reason since everything was set up correctly. Had to stop the job while I tried to repair it. Had to go to manual drilling with my Dewalt. Returned it to Amazon

No longer a "pain in the BACK" as this takes all the bending out of the equation! Occasional double advancement of screws after setting a screw but nothing to worry about.

Screwed 3,000 screws in my new deck in one day. Easy to operate, No jams, etc! Never build a large deck without this screw gun.

I bought this unit because of its value and it turned out to be a good decision. It feels like it's better quality than my SENCO. It's also versatile in that you can remove the extension and use it for walls or ceilings. I used it to screw down 800 sf of decking using 3000 screws with only slight wear on the bit. Misfires were rare and always because of something I did wrong. Nice long cord, light weight, powerfull hitachi driver and easy adjustments. One of those tools that are worth the investment even if you use it on one job (decent size job). No back or knee ache was important.

this tool is a must if you want to set screws perfectly, and save your back, in the time it takes a typical handyman to put one screw in with a cordless driver..this will put in 5-6 easy...excellent construction, and very lightweight for the power.

We have a 53 year-old construction company and specialize in upscale custom homes. We recently replaced our 12 year-old Senco collated screwgun with the Hitachi and immediately put it to test. It performed very well. No glitches, No problems at all. The first day out we drove over 5000 screws. I would recommend this gun to any production crew.
