Purchased two of these along with the Hinkley fans- one for bedroom, one for living room. Both have step up ceilings and needed 12” down rods. These are exactly what they appear to be in the product listing. If you order them with the fan, be aware that tracking will show that it was delivered with the fan even though the down rod comes in a separate package a day or two later. I ordered mine a few weeks apart and when Amazon said everything was delivered I thought part of my order had been left out. The rod came a day later, and the same thing happened with the second order. Just a heads up.

The downrod was ordered in a brushed nickel finish. The downrod delivered was spray painted in a gold hued silver paint. Not even close to a genuine brushed nickel finish in either color or actual metal finish. To add insult to injury, on the Amazon ad, it says eligible for refund or replacement. However, if you click on the refund or replacement line, it comes up that the product is non returnable unless defective or damaged. This vendor's ad is misleading and the item sent is of such a poor quality that is unusable. Will not order from this vendor again.

The matte black paint was flawless. The item was installed by an electrician with no issues.
