One is working great, the second one the back light flickers after a few minutes then goes out. The text is still showing just no back light. If I turn it off for a bit and turn it back on it works for a bit then flickers and the back light goes out again. It was easy to get these working on my Arduino UNO R3 and the fist one has been working great so far.Update:They both seem to be working now 5 Stars!Fast delivery thanks!

This LCD display works really great when paired with the Arduino Uno. In my opinion, the only thing that would make it even better is if the header pins were already soldered to the board. I suppose the manufacturer doesn’t do this, so that they could be used in a different application.

Great for my PIC projects, they have seen a lot of abuse from me yet still work flawlessly. Will buy more for sure.

This display was a perfect replacement for the defective one in my Pace MBT 301 soldering station. The only adjustment needed was to increase the spacer length from the motherboard because the lcd panel on this board is a bit thinner.

Normally, I prefer it when the pins come presoldered, but that's fine. The brightness is standard, and the symbols display normally. There's not much of a hassle to control the contrast either.

This is a well made unit and has good contrast and brightness. Price is right for the quality. It doesn't have header pins which can be an advantage if you're going to solder wires directly to it. If you do want header pins they're easy to attach.

To be fair it dose not claim it does but if you want to easily use it with SPI you want the:HiLetgo 2pcs HD44780 IIC I2C1602 LCD Display with IIC I2C TWI SPI Serial Interface Adapter 1602 LCD Display Blue Backlight for ArduinoThey sell the adapter separately which I ended up buying and it worked great. If you get the adapter and nothing is coming up on the display adjust the blue trim pot on the adapter. Mine shipped with the brightness turned down.

For the price, I was not expecting much, but I was surprised by how well they worked. Both of them were functional, once I figured out how they worked. A better instruction sheet would have been nice. They will never fly in a spaceship, but for what I needed for my home project, they are well worth the money.

I am using these with a Raspberry Pi. The only problem I had was that the power provided on the header was not sufficient to power the display and interface so I added a separate +5 v power unit. These a great displays. Once set up with the back light and contrast I haven't had to anything more. I am using them in several projects. I use the 4-bit mode.

Excellent product worked with standard library for both Great Cow BASIC and Arduino. With Great Cow BASIC being a lot fast to operate the LCD.The soldering of the connector was fast with the PCB being very clean as the packaging is good.Overall - very good.Details of my tests - I attached to an HiLetgo R3 UNO.- Using the same code logic for Great Cow BASIC and Arduino C.Cleared the millis counter to 0: Print a test value to the LCD: Move the cursor on the LCD: Print millis() on the LCD- Great Cow BASIC was sub 1ms with the Arduino at sub 4ms.The backlight is good and the build quality is also good. For the code used to test please review the attached picture - or, look in GitHub for 'HiLetgo' and optionally add 'Anobium' to the GitHub search.I am not affiliated with HiLetgo. I am the developer of Great Cow BASIC - an open source compiler for AVR and PIC MCus.

A standard 1602 display perfect for arduino projects. I’ve bought quite a few over the years and have yet to see any difference in display output. I always go for the QAPASS stamped ones only because that was the first one I bought many moons ago and I suspect they originate at the same factory.A good quality robust display with a nice bright backlight. Backlight can, in my experience, be driven by PWM output (larger displays draw a higher current and won’t run from an arduino PWM pin) so you can adjust brightness and contrast via pwm pins if you want software control rather than external pot or resistor.Solder leads to the display or use pins if you plan to use on multiple projects. Works just fine with the arduino LCD library. At the time of purchase this was the cheapest prime for a pair I could find.
