- 1. Can I use this mirror dash cam as a normal rearview mirror?
- Yes, turn off the screen display, you can use it as a normal rearview camera. But it will be dark than your car's original rearview camera
- 2. Will the rear camera record while driving forward or only when reversing?
- The rearview camera can record both while driving forward and reversing. And it will record the reversing when you are parking. Need to connect the rearview camera trigger wire.
Installation steps:
- fix the car recorder with a suction cup near the rearview mirror, pay attention not to block the line of sight.
- Insert the cigarette lighter, you can use your hand to unplug the cigarette lighter directly or press the switch to open and close the recorder manually.
- the vast majority of vehicles with elastic material roof, gently gouge it with your hand, the wiring harness into the roof of the gap can be.
Note：the voltage of this rearview mirror is 7-32V.

I would love to rate this device at 5.Not listed under features but the real rating killer is the audio. When using FM, the audio is saturated and noisy. When using Aux there is a a LOUD ticking noise through the line. The built-in speaker is mostly 'adequate' but not really suitable for listening to music while driving. I don't have Bluetooth on my car stereo so was unable to test that channel so maybe that is the one that actually works and makes this the 5 star product it should be.Now that the negativity is out of the way. What do I love? The image is crisp and clear. I did not get a TF card in my packaging but used my own. The video playback is simple to access. There is no GPS, compass or burnt in timestamp but the video files themselves are named for the time they were recorded. The unit has a microphone that records you. If you are prone to bursts of road rage, think twice before submitting video to your insurance or law enforcement. Overall for the price it is a good product.

I purchased this to add CarPlay to a 2015 Nissan Rouge. It connects easily every time I start the car and still functions as a rear view mirror. The screen quality is good. I’ve had no issues with the dash cam function. I have not installed the back up camera since the vehicle had an adequate one from the factory.

Does everything you expect it to do! Installation was nice. The camera can’t read license plates very well. The image is still very nice. Rear view camera is nice. CarPlay works very well. Touchscreen works well. I really like this unit. The built-in speaker is pretty useless. If they put in a speaker you could actually hear then this product would be unbeatable. I also would like it to come with a permanent mount to replace my mirror as an option, instead of the wrap around mount. If this is what you’re looking for, buy it!

This product has some issues after 8 months. I got this one this Jan. After 8 month, the CarPlay doesn't work. Once my phone connect to CarPlay via Bluetooth, the device shut down automatically. I tried to contact vendor, however, the message cannot send out via their official web. I also tried to call them. The number provided by Amazon is not in service. There is no way to get support for this poor product.
