This is a replacement for the old Seth Thomas mechanism that stopped after many years of faithful service. It was hard to determine the diameter of the mechanism, so I had to order one slightly undersize, then wrapped in foam tape to make it fit snuggly in the solid wood housing with polished brass feet. It matched perfectly.

Great invention for replacing in old clocks. Hard to get correct sizes. I use thick rubber bands to help fit tight in clock..

We have a small mantle clock by Lenox that was a wedding gift many, many years ago. The original clock itself stopped working after so many years. I bought this clock to replace it. Although my hubby had to add a thick rubber band on the back to make it fit the opening, it did work and it looks great.

The time piece inside our Byers' Collection of carolers stopped working, so I replaced it with this one. It is actually better quality than the original and kept great time. I didn't want the Roman numerals, but it is what it is. Very shiny and a good fit for the original clock tower of our collection.

Looks great. Just an FYI, the specs say it fits a round hole dia. of 2.4". The hole in the back of my clock was about 2.38 (2 and 3/8inches), nevertheless this insert fit fine with the rubber spacer on it. I was a bit worried that the insert would be too big to fit the hole in the back of the clock.
