measured about 0,15 mm difference from flat to centre comparing the four flats. Of course this is noticeable on your work.

Sent the first one back for replacement, second was a little better but still out by .008" TIR. I don't have time to deal with it anymore. The square one was much better, acceptable for job shop work. All three collet nuts are junk, they do not draw the collet out of the body, I threw those away and use the proper ones I already have. I've generally had pretty fair luck with HHIP, not so much this time around.

Very nice piece. Nicely machined and does what it's supposed to do. Although Throwing this in a bubble bag was a very poor choice of shipping AMAZON!!

Does what it should, I bought a budget collet holder and this one did not disappoint. It is just what I need for my hobby shop! Excellent, really excellent product!!

Collets snapped into and out of collet holder easily. I use the tool on mill for orienting collet held work surfaces 90 or 180 degrees from the 0 degree face by simply loosening the vice and rotating the square portion of the tool. I made a brass valve for a black powder flask which required placement of varying diameter holes at 90 degrees to each other, this tool saved me a lot of time to correctly orient the cylindrical brass rod. Using V blocks and this tool the work could also be rotated in 45 degree increments. Previously I used a rotary table positioned perpendicular to the mill spindle to get an accurate 45, 90 or 180 degree rotation.

Nice ground appearance. Came well rapped and oily with no finger prints or corrosion. Nut fit smoothly, but visible roughness in threads. Inside wall cavity had tool marks not ground out. The experts talk about less than .0005 inch run out down to .0002 in quality holders. I measured .0012 run out inside and outside when mounted in a 3 jaw on my 9x18 Chinese lathe on the best set of flats. This is about as good as I can get out of my spindle and 3 jaw on any set up. Think this will be good enough for my home shop use. Maybe not for you.

I purchased this so I can use collects in my metal lathe. So I purchased metric and standard collets in another order. I put this block into my lathe chuck and tightened the jaws. I slipped an indicator into the tail stock of the machine and brought the indicator inside the block and checked the runout. It was .001 out and with a slight bump of a plastic hammer had it running dead. For the price you can't beat this block. It's accurate and now I have the option of using collets in my lathe for smaller work that I don't want to mar up. I also can use this block in a milling machne for small round parts as well. I'm happy with the purchase. The spanner wrench is not included.

This is a well-machined and accurate piece of tooling at a very reasonable price. It arrived on the very day that I needed to make a chuck key, and was so much more convenient to use than having to set up the rotary table. I had to fiddle with the exact dimensions of the piece due to some variation in the socket holes of the chuck (!), but the block made checking the fit and replacing the fixture precisely back into the vise a breeze— couldn't have done that with a rotary table. I've just ordered the hex block as well. I've been consistently pleased with tooling from H&H.
