Why should i use a water deionizer for car washing?
Using a water deionizer for car washing offers several benefits. How does ion exchange work?
Ion exchange resins are used to produce deionized (demineralized or DI) water. These resins are small plastic beads composed of organic polymer chains that have charged functional groups built into the resin bead. Each functional group has either a fixed positive or negative charge.
Cation resin has a negative functional group and attracts positively charged ions.
Anion resin has a positive functional group and attracts negatively charged ions.

came next day, used for first time after washing to get winter grime off ,reduced most water spots left a lot less then what i normally have, only 3 stars as still had some spots but no were as much as normal and we blow dry next time to see how that works

Easily the worst purchase made through Amazon. Both ends were stripped out, so basically this is an ugly paperweight.

I purchased this product to use it in line before the larger H&G lifestyles Portable Water Deionizer I recently purchased and reviewed, to see if it would extend the resin life in the larger deionizer, but I also tested it by itselfWhen I tested the TDS of the water from the tap was 197ppm. When tested through this in line deionizer it was lowered to 20ppm which should result in no spots for any water. When used in line with the larger deionizer it resulted in a TDS reading of 14 which is excellent and having the incoming water to the large deionizer at 20ppm should extend the life of the resin for as long as the in line deionizer is effectiveThe unit is well built and simple. It screwed on with no issue and sealed with the installed washer. If you have need for low TDS water on occasion, this is a great option and compact and easy to use

I created the bypass loop (shown in the attached pic) for a hose using this filter and a few other hose components (everything from Amazon for less than $100 including the filter) to use for car washes, etc. then tried out the filter. Using test strips, the filter reduced minerals and salts from a few 100 ppms (in the 300-400 range) to less than 30 ppm. Followed that up with a simple experimental car wash, soaping and rinsing first with unfiltered water through the bypass (bottom loop in the pic), then switching to the filter for the final mist rinse. I did a quick (not thorough) drying swipe with an artificial chamois (The Absorber) to get rid of standing water and let the car dry naturally. No more water spotting on the glass or finish! I am very satisfied!!!I am tackling the solar panels next!As an aside, I contacted the company to get the pressure rating of the filter cartridge. They stated 100 psig, and I know that our municipal water pressure is slightly in excess of that. The filter held together without any issues.

I like the filter and it does a good job of helping my black jeep to not show water spots. It works great,and now my car looks better

Just as advertised, it gives you a spotless rinse on my car. I ran a water meter to see how much water I ran through the unit so I will know when it is about done.Mr. Clean use to have a washing system with a deionized filter (was expensive to replace the filter) but stopped making them, I am guessing because of the cost of the deionized filter.

easy to install on hose for last rinse and works well to reduce, even completely, any spots. does drip on one side of the connection but that may be the hose, or I could use a silicone sleeve
