I got this to measure pistons. The "standard" they sent to verify accuracy was machined crooked, so that was useless, but after verifying it with a decent snap gauge and dial calipers it's been very accurate.

It’s an inexpensive item but pretty accurate compared to my machinist calipers . It serves the purpose if you aren’t working with highly accurate machining .

Muy mal que no incluyan un manual de usuario, siendo que es mi primer micrómetro, por poco lo arruino al no saber como calibrarlo, me tuve que chutar una hora de youtube para poder calibrarlo.

The two points that you measure between are NOT SQUARE with each other. They CANNOT be used for accurate measurement. You are wasting your time and money trying to use these for the purpose they say they were built... Just... don't do it... Amazon will not allow this review to post because they don't want the truth out there... But, i'm returning these immediately and spending more money to buy QUALITY products. Even harbor freight has HIGHER quality than these things... Not kidding.

This does not seem any worse (or better) than other micrometers I've used in my life. Which is fantastic, considering those others cost way more. I had to adjust it a tiny bit out of the box, but that was quite simple after following the directions (and watching a video). I'm thinking of buying a 1-inch version as well and I'll buy this brand again.

A need exists to measure parts that are about 1.1 inches long ((28 mm). The electronic calipers that exist seem to have issues with battery life, with keeping zero, and have ergonomic issues. With this micrometer, no issues arise. One needs to know the (now) old art of reading an analog dial. Calibration was checked with a Jo block and a 1-2-3 block. Uncertainty seems to be under 0.0003 inches, about the thickness of lubricant. The storage case is good - a welcome adjunct. Repetition using the clutch was close to perfect. Now I have the means to measure without a worry about battery or zero. I have yet to evaluate the included one inch rod. The instrument should last several lifetimes.
