I got sick of my batteries being dead so I wanted a set of analog calipers. Work great and accurate enough for this hobbyist.

I dropped a no name caliper and it put the zero at around 3 o'clock mark instead of straight up. They still work fine, just had to rotate bezel to match the new zero because it skipped a cog. However, these are more sloppy. I need to make the measurement while closing every time too make consistent readings as there is a 2 mil slop to it where it's not a dual wheel inside locking for zero takeup or something but they measure differently when opening as an inside measurement than they do while closing. I just need to make sure to add 2 mil or subtract but I forget which is which. I'll be going back to the no names when these break or get bent or whatever since they're the ones that get used/dropped/abused/forgotten/stolen/lost so I'm not going to be putting Mitutoyo around for somebody to accidentally put in their pocket. These are good enough for something like woodworking but not really for layout or precision machining beyond rough guesstimate checks.

I would not count on these if I was a machinist making parts with extremely tight tolerance (that is what Starrett and Mitutoyo are for...) but for the hobbyist or casual user, these are just fine. I do not have to worry about a battery leaking or dying after prolonged storage. There was some "crunchy-ness" when I first used these but after opening and closing them a few times to get the grease moving, it went away. The dial is gear driven, so this should not be a surprise. Good tool for the price!

These calipers are the Best!! I threw away the digital calipers, once I received these. The calipers are easy to set and read. I need these calipers, beause of precision in measuring the length of the bullets that I reload. Fantastic price and quick delivery.

First, Calipers are good quality. They are not the perfect set. They feel a little rough when turning the wheel, which I imagine will loosen over time. I would grade them 90-95% overall. They will suit my needs. A great value for the cost compared to others. The case image in the listing clearly implies foam insert, this is not true. The case is completely hard plastic. There are two posts with foam tips to hold them in place. They work moderately okay. If your case is going to be jostled it will not protect your calipers long term. All that being said for mid $20USD, I would buy them again.

The Imperial Calipers are exactly what my son needed for his class. They’re accurate, well-built, and easy to use, making them perfect for learning precision measurements. The quality feels solid, and they’re durable enough to last through regular use. My son finds them helpful, and they’ve been a great addition to his school tools. Highly recommend for students or anyone needing reliable calipers.

I bought this caliper for use it my shop so my expensive caliper doesn't see the abuse .Holds up to a lot of abuse and still hold accuracy.I use a good micrometer for measuring .0001 but for measuring .001 this will get you there. And did I say it was cheap.

I bought these because I needed another pair. One is on our boat, and since we moved the boat to Panama, I needed a set for home. Unfortunately, I bought these earlier this year, and just last night I opened up the box. The first thing I noticed is that it didn't zero reliably - a different number each time I zeroed it. Then, the brass/copper tensioner fell out during the first use. I have no idea how it goes back in. So, a waste of money for a crappy product. I'm not sure what the 5 star reviewers got - any chance I can get one of them?
