I can see the external array and drives, but if I run a hardware raid I get constant (2 or 3 warnings per minute) instability warnings. If I run it as a bunch of disks and use ZFS or unraid, I get constant S.M.A.R.T. drive warnings from known good drives. Don't waste your money, or your time troubleshooting a bad cable design. I had 3 of these, same issue on all. Areay works fine when connected 8088 to 8088.

I got this card to connect my netapp 4246 to my file servers hba and I'm happy to report it worked just fine for that.

This external SAS cable works very well and is very good quality. I have been able to get full speed per channel of 6Gb using this connected to a SAS enclosure and it has really helped clean up the cable clutter since I got the short 0.5m cable. I've been running it constantly since installing it and it has not had any issues.

I purchased this to run between the front ports of a NAS drive array to the rear input on my server. I somehow accidentally mistook this for a one meter cable, so it is not going to be able to go into service in my application sadly though. I can vouch for its quality construction, just make certain you purchase a version you KNOW is long enough for your application. If you only have to go a half meter this would do it well.

This is the third HiFiber product that I've reviewed. This cable, just like the others, works great.I used this cable to connect a server to a NetApp DS4246 JBOD. The JBOD has a QSFP+ port on the controller and my server uses an LSI 9286-8e which has SFF-8088 ports. At a length of 1 meter, this cable was the perfect length for connecting the two in my server rack without excess cable.The connectors fit perfectly in both the NetApp and LSI card. They clearly locked in and release with light pressure on the blue and green tags. The cable itself is decently flexible for routing it in the server rack. The strain relief at each connector works great for protecting the cable.At the time of writing this review, the price of this cable was $24.88. I have seen occasional flash sales for cables like these that price them as low as $12. Outside of those sales, I'd say this price is pretty average.
