I was immediately attracted to the uncommon design of the bowls and plates.- These are clearly well made... the first time you hold one of the plates you will see that.- The weight is on the heavy side... but not ridiculously heavy. They are definitely strong and sturdy.- The size is standard for each piece... they are great for your kids too because the large lipped edges keep everything on the plate. A definite boost for us!- They go in the microwave, are easy to use, clean and store together very well due to the design. These days our money needs to be well spent and it is important that we get the best value for our money... and dishes are not a real big purchase because if you don't want them to be... however this dish set stands out in 3 ways... Style, Design and Quality. you are getting a quality made set of dishes that are built to last and look great with the uniform White Color so they will match 99% of any decoration setup. Finally the Design... the Lipped Edges are a Game Changer for our Family. It Serves a very vital purpose of making sure your kids don't spill what is on their plate.

Very nice quality, varying colors so dont expect them to match from plate to bowl. very heavy and finish is top notch

The one feature I like most in this dinnerware set is the plates all having raised edges. You may not think about it much but if you sometimes plate the food in the kitchen and carry it out to the table or even into the living room to eat while watching TV , the edge of the plate will stop spills or food from accidentally sliding off the plate. Related to this is that the bottoms of all the pieces are pretty flat, so if someone rests a hand on the edge of the plate it won't "flip up". The style of bowls in the set is similar, they are wide, flat and shallow. They hold just as much as a traditional "round bottom bowl" shape but they are impossible to tip over. If you have kids you probably already know how easily a round cereal bowl can get tipped over, making a huge mess. The downside of this is the bowls and plates don't really nest inside each other, so when you stack them up in a cupboard they take up a bit more vertical space, but they do still stack up well. The overall look of the pieces is pretty nice as well, I got the light grey speckled ones, quite honestly the speckles aren't really all that obvious till you have a plate right in front of you. The plates are fairly heavy ceramic and seem well made. The bottom of each plate has a thin ring where it touches the table that is unglazed. This will prevent the plates from sliding around on the table but if you happen to have highly polished table tops it might also scratch the table, so if you use these on that kind of surface you might want to use placemats. These are very well packaged in foam and cardboard so they are unlikely to be damaged in shipment. Mine arrived without any chipping or damage so I wouldn't let the few reviews of damaged pieces put you off this set. Just, like anything fragile, check out all the pieces before throwing away the packaging in case you have to return something.

The good: These seem to be good quality, washed up well, and are smooth and sturdy. It's a nice sized set for two people without leaving you with a bunch of extra pieces you won't use.The size is perfect, not too big or too small in any of the different plates or bowls. I really appreciate the size of the rims around both the small and large plates, they're great at holding all bits of things, like bread and cracker crumbs, in place. I think this is the first plate set I've had with such a high rim and I love it – perfect for holding in any potential spills! The less good: the color was supposed to be green and it doesn't really look that way, or just barely. This color feels closer to the gray or khaki ones listed and I was hoping it would be a bit more minty. These stack but only top of each other piece, not within, so they take up a lot of cabinet or shelf space. In a small apartment kitchen this may not be ideal, so just good to be aware! It's like this for the small and large plates and small bowls as well – everything only stacks in a big pile. I got them to replace a dwindling dinnerware set after breaking two plates within a week, so luckily I had some space. But just to know, see photo.I also noticed two very obvious grammar mistakes on the text stamped on the back of each dish, which casts some suspicion on whether these were actually design[ed] in Paris and from a brand established in the 70s. The quality is decent but they very much come across as a modern Chinese manufacture and not a French-design inspired dinnerware brand producing since the 70s.
