Much nicer than the red tang. I only trim my one horse but I’m only on my second one since January and she’s on a 1-2 week trim cycle. I tried a red tang and it didn’t stay sharp as long and was harder to use.

Great rasp. I trim my four horses myself so I definitely don’t do a lot but I do one horse every other week. It is now September 24 and today the rasp was pretty dull and not really usable for me. That might give you an idea of how long it will last. It was amazing while it lasted, I will give it that which is why I’m buying another one right now…..I recommend getting a handle for it and definitely wear gloves!

This is the nicest rasp I have ever used. It makes trimming so much easier. I am excited to see how it lasts compared to the cheaper rasps I've tried, but in terms of performance there is no comparison.Update 2/23/23: I've gotten over twice the use out of this that I would a cheaper model. Money well spent and I have re-ordered.

This is a very sharp rasp, great for medium hard hooves. My horse is barefoot and has a medium-hard to hard hoof wall and fairly tough soles. This rasp easily bites through it, be careful not to take to much off! Because it is so sharp, it can be hard to start the foot, so start with light pressure and add more pressure has the hoof evens out. Easy to bevel the hoof wall with one hand on the rasp and the file side is also sharp and leaves a smooth finish. Definitely worth the money, don't make your life hard by using a full rasp.
