Needed this tool to punch a few buttons in a carhartt style jacket. Someone else must’ve had a similar idea cause the tool I received showed up used. A few mangled snaps, discarded trimmings and hardware was scattered all over the box. Decent tool but that bummed me out to be on the receiving end of some cheapskate needing to punch holes then return it leaving me with less hardware. Do better about verifying what was shipped back Amazon.

This tool works perfectly—I’m loving it! Once I figured out how to use it, everything clicked. After practicing on some test fabric, I was able to quickly and effortlessly add snap buttons to a pair of winter gloves.

I bought this tool to add snaps to my sailboat cushions to secure them. Easy to use and worked perfectly. Why pay someone to do something you can easily do yourself? I would purhase this tool again and recommend it highly.

I needed this to mount 60 marine grade snap fasteners of type CAF-316. Expensive top of the line marine fasteners. Unfortunately, in my tests I was unable to reliably fasten the caps. Theres no problem with more average quality snap fasteners I also had on hand. These marine quality snaps were at and beyond the edge of what I can muster with my average male 60# grip strength.I'm sorry to say I had to resort to using a lever operated press and sent this unit back for a refund.

These snap fastener pliers are much better quality than I had imagined. They work, easily putting snaps over jacket pockets that have no zipper. That allows me to carry cell phone in the jacket pocket, without fear of the phone falling out. Good quality, good value, works as advertised!

I have had a great experience using this tool. First, it is sturdy and allows you to apply LOTS of pressure to ensure that the snaps are well seated in the fabric. I used it to put snaps on a neoprene fabric with sewn velcro strips. (the velcro lost its ability to close). It was important that the snaps themselves were made of brass and impervious to salts and rainy weather. I can't report yet whether they stand the test of time - but, I did love the tool, instructions, and doing my little project!

Bought this to replace some of the snaps that have gone missing on our marching band's heavy rain coats. I tried to cut corners by ordering the sort you have to hammer in first but those are so time consuming and honestly once you price it out, not much of a savings. I don't know yet how well these will hold up but the snaps all seem to work on the same principal so if the snaps rust or fall out, the snap setter should still work to set something of better quality. I want to be able to replace snaps in a hurry, on a bus or on the turf, without having to carry around a hammer around and wandering off to find a solid surface to use it against.I'll update once our coats have withstood a few rainy games or parades.The only negative I see so far is that this is very much a one trick pony - works for one size of snaps and only metal snaps, not grommets or plastic snaps - but for the price, it does the job well. I've even made use of it a few times now for items that didn't already have a snap and the hole punch feature works great even through multiple layers of fabric. Easy to use once you get the knack for it - no tools needed to change the different pieces.

It worked well. I did find having to change the hole punch die to the fastening die a little annoying. I’m use to having 2 tools (hole punch & press), so I punched a hole, changed dies, pressed the snap, changed dies, punched hole, changed… etc. for the first two. Once hung, I marked the rest of the snaps with a marker, took off the canvass and punch all the holes first, then all the snaps
