HOW TO PREVENT FOOD FROM STICKING TO THE STAINLESS STEEL GRILL TOPPER
1-Coat the grill topper with olive oil or any other cooking oil before grilling.
2-Preheat the grill topper.

The cooking area of this model is approx. 10.5" x 12" and the thickness is specified at 0.055" so it is really heavy duty as advertised. Extreme Salmon also offers a larger, somewhat different model which has a 12" x 15" cooking area and which costs just a dollar more, but the thickness of the stainless steel is not specified. Since we already had the smaller one, I opted to buy a second one, rather than a larger one which is probably made of thinner metal. There is room for two smaller units in the BBQ.Some customers complained about warping of the metal during cooking. Since we didn't have any problems with the old one, I tested the new one at 450 F in the electric oven and it it came out as flat as it had gone in. If in doubt, do this test before cooking with it, so you can return it in time.Grilling fatty meat will leave some hard to clean spots. Don't use oven cleaning sprays, I tried and failed to clean it. In the end I brush-coated both sides with undiluted dish washing detergent, left it to work on it for a couple of hours, and then used a heavy duty scouring pad as recommended by the manufacturer. It work very well.To avoid the meat sticking to the metal, I used vegetable shortening, a small piece of cloth and tongs.

I have not used this pan yet, but I believe it will be perfect for my Masterbuilt smoker. It seems very sturdy and will fit in to my smoking veggies and smaller meats, perfectly.

I bought several grill pans and returned them to the store (Costco) because they highly warped on a hot grill. This one claims to not warp but it still does some but not as much as the thinner metal ones. I use it for grilling salmon. It works great for that. It will stain and nearly impossible to keep it shiny however any grill pan will stain so it's not an issue.

Easy to clean in dishwasher, east to cost with oil, holes are even yet small enough that small items will not fall through. Grill Pan is perfect for small family as it easily holds a couple of salmon fillets and still leaves room on a smallish Weber grill to barbecue a couple of burgers fit non fish lovers

Straight to almost: Under very high heat the first time I used it, it buckled or warped which I had read about in another review. The warping presented a challenge cooking on it. Second time I didn't expose it to that level of heat and it was fine, lesson learned. On the positive side it made cooking salmon so much easier with a similar experience with hamburgers. If they made a larger one that would still fit on my grill, I'd but it.

This works great on small grills. I have blackened mahi on it, grilled tuna and red snapper, as well as salmon. So far it cleans easily, has not warped nor discolored anymore than you would expect. Fits well into one of the smallest barrel type grills. Very pleased at this point.i

When I used it on the grill, it warpped very badly. It was almost hard to flip the burgers and get back on the the grill pan in order. I was shocked to see the condition of the pan BUT it did flatten back out as it cooled down. Not sure if this is a flaw in the construction or the type of pan. I would try another if offered a replacement but definitely would not but again.

Tried several of these from different places and it is easy to buy an overseas made one that is too thin, but this one is excellent. I especially appreciate it because I am both a welder and a cook. I actually bought two of them and trimmed a bit off the face of each and welded them face to face so it fit my grill perfectly and has edges on all 4 sides so cooking veggies is easy. The curved edges make this very easy to clean, but in retrospect if they had one with higher edges that were bent at right angles to the grill surface I would lose fewer veggies to the fire gods as they go over the edge. I am very happy with the form and quality.
