Ordered this to use on our induction cooktop. It looks and feels exactly like the non-slip shelf liners we have. It's a mesh fabric and very hard to keep clean. Too thick to see through so we had to guess the location of the burners. Sent it back.

I will say I was excited about this pad and what it was supposed to do, especially after my cook top got a fairly large scratch in it. That being said, it failed epically when it came to heat resin. I tried a couple of times to use it while cooking and each time the mat began smoking. The texture of the mat changed to brittle where the heat was applied. Very disappointed with this and don’t recommend for anyone else who is lured in by the promise of being able to cook on it!

I replace my I induction top 3 times a year..this is first time I bought one that stated transparent..I thought it was a silicon blanket like my last one...nope this is like a screen..grease and cooking herbs,sugar n such still get through..requiring a trip to dishwasher..won't buy another..seems 9k for keeping scratches off glass..

The mat is okay but does not meet my needs. It is a mesh similar in style to window screen only in silicon. It performs well when I cook on it. It holds its shape when hot so you can slide a pan across it without stretching it out of shape. But, if there is a spill, you have to clean the mat AND the stove. Because of where the lights are placed on my range hood, I cannot see the induction element thru the mat as advertised. I bought the mat so I could see the location of the element. It seems like it will hold up well and is easy to cut to size. I like the extra half inch on either side of my range however it does not keep spills from dripping down the side of the range. I cook on it twice a day every day but it has increased my kitchen maintenance chores which, lets face it, nobody wants to spend extra time cleaning.

Because this product is a silicone covered mesh, food and liquid spills fall thru to thr cooking surface and totally defeats the purpose of a cooktop covering which SHOULD prevent dirtying the cooktop surface. The ONLY thing this mesh would do is prevent scratches on the cooktop.
