Worked for a few minutes. Then the screen would go black for a few seconds and come back. Then the screen turned black. Did not work on a second monitor.

For the price, I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Easy to install and able to use right away. I have been using it for a month or two now with no issues.

Works, I needed something to connect an HDMI cable to my older TV whose HDMI cable input was broken. With this I can just plug it into the VGA port, just make sure you're getting the right connection as many other reviews have said. It's easy to switch them so just double check before you order :)

For what it is does, simple VGA to HDMI video adapter at a great price. For the hassle of having first one defective out of the package, and having to return it and order a replacement, I took off one a star to warn others they may need to test and troubleshoot before final installation, especially if installing it in a hard to reach place.Operationally, we'll see how long the adapter works for us, but since we're doing simple (web browsing and balancing the check book) kind of stuff, not running heavy/intense video activity (gaming or streaming 4k HD movies), I don't expect it to die any time soon...at least not before we upgrade computers to a business-class machine with digital video (HDMI or DisplayPort) outputs used by newer monitors.Again, our problem with the first unit, it displayed inverted video colors and drop-outs, we were able to track down the issue as a bad input cable, something that should have been caught by QC at the factory. I mean, did they even plug everything in, wiggle and jiggle all the cables and see if anything fails, that's a minimum check these should get on the line -- they either work and ready to package, or they fail and get reworked or scrapped. Not talking brain surgery here, just some basic QC testing. Customers should be able to enjoy a working product from day one, IMHO. :-( At least Amazon makes the returned/exchange process super easy :-)Aside from that ding, we're happy with this video adapter so far, which is much more than we can say for our trying cheaper cable options first. The right way is buy a new video card, for those not looking to invest a lot to get digital video from an old computer, this little black box does the task nicely. :-)

The black cover is a bit lose, but does not bother much. However, I used it with an old LG monitor, which transfer the signal quite fine. But with my new Dell LCD monitor, it does not allow to use a resolution more than 1074x768. IF anyone knows a solution, let me know.

Recently cut the cord from cable and I'm using this to stream from an older laptop to my TV -- VGA output to HDMI input (direction is important.)The audio cord isn't long enough for my setup because it's on the opposite side from the VGA port, but I have speakers plugged in so it doesn't matter. This does need to be plugged in to a USB port to work and that will also need to be pretty close to the VGA port so it will reach the device (or just use a longer micro-usb cord.) Simple solution, great value.

Simple plug and play. Got my desktop, which only has vga output, connected to my hdmi big tv. This turns any TV with hdmi into a monitor for your computer! Works great and came with everything necessary to connect.

I have 2 of the same monitors, the monitor that's connected with this adapter maxes of at 1600 x 1200 and is detected as Generic Non Pnp Monitor, I'm using an old desktop that only has DVI and VGA ports, unable to get 1920 x 1080 on the second monitor, may work if it was for a single display

This product is simple and just works and for the $5 I paid I can't believe how good it is. The quality speaks for itself, it outputs on a Dell P990 CRT without any distortion and the stereo to my PC speakers is clean. I mean I would have had to go through crazy hoops to get something like this to work 10-15 years ago and it would have cost me hundreds of dollars and now for $5 you can literally do this with ease and get beautiful results!First pic is FF VII on PC via my Steam Deck 720pSecond pic is Live A Live via my Nintendo Switch dock 1080p
