I'll be returning this. I plugged it in with 2 different HDMI inputs (PC and Nintendo Switch) and at first my monitor didn't detect anything at all and wouldn't display no matter which input I chose. I unplugged it and tried again with only one input (PC). The display turned on for a few seconds, then disconnected, then turned on again and kept doing this over and over. Same thing when I tried it with only the Switch plugged into the splitter.Should have known better, you get what you pay for. I don't recommend.

This product simplifies switching between Fire Stick, DVD player, and casting from the computer screen. No more looking behind the TV to plug in devices. Easy installation! I have not noticed a difference in picture and/or sound quaility.

It has been a couple of years now that our 2nd HDMI port went out (for whatever reason) on the den TV. This meant that we could only have cable OR Roku. It was too big of a pain in the a$$ to change ports, so we just made do. It just occured to me to search to find out if there was such a thing as a HDMI extender. HALLELUJAH! I was so excited that I failed to read all the details - I thought the shorter one would be perfect. It works, but be aware that you have to press a button to "activate" that port. It is almost too short for me to do that. I would advise going with the longer one...just in case! It is super simple to operate and install - I mean seriously a Chimp could do it!

There's a BIG DIFFERENCE between a switch, a splitter, and an adapter! Learn from my mistakes! For people with brains, this should be obvious, but for the rest of us... not so much. Depending on what you're trying to do, you will need one of these three.**** HDMI SWITCH ****Change devices going to the same monitor/television/whatever.Example: let's say you have a PC and an Xbox. You want use the same monitor for both the PC and the Xbox. You COULD re-wire everything every time you want to change between the devices, or you could buy a switch. An HDMI cable goes from your PC to the switcher, and another HDMI goes from your Xbox to the switcher. 2 inputs. From there, an HDMI cable goes from the switcher to the monitor. One output.**** HDMI SPLITTER ****A device that duplicates the output of a device to multiple monitors/televisions/things-with-a-screen-and-HDMI-port.Example: let's say that you own a bar and you have three televisions. You want to show the big game on all three tvs. You would buy a splitter, and your signal would be duplicated on all three televisions. In this case, an HDMI cable would go from your device to the splitter, and then HDMI cables would go from the splitter to the screens -- one cable per screen.IMPORTANT: you CANNOT have different stuff show on different screens! All that a splitter does is duplicate the images going from your device to your television/monitor to more than one television/monitor/screens-with-HDMI-port! ALL IS DOES IS DUPLICATE WHAT'S SHOWING ON ONE SCREEN!**** Switch/Splitters ****Yes, you can combine a switcher and a splitter.Example: you have a PC in your home office and you'd like to use that PC to show Netflix movies on your television in the living room. You also want to use the monitor in your office to play Xbox. How can you do this?In this case, you want a switch/splitter. The switch would be to go between the Xbox and your PC in your office, and the splitter to show Netflix on both your office monitor and the television in the living room.**** What's this # IN # OUT business? ****This is for switch/splitters. The number for IN references the different devices that you want to use, and the number for OUT is the number of televisions/monitors/screens-with-HDMI-ports.Let's go back to our "use Xbox and computer in home office but also show Netflix on both your home office monitor AND living room television" example. In this case, you have 2 devices -- two inputs -- your computer and your Xbox, and 2 outputs, your home office monitor and the television in your living room.To accomplish this example, you'd need a switch/splitter 2 IN 2 OUT.The lesson here is: # IN is the number of devices you want to use and # OUT is the number of monitors/televisions/screens-with-an-HDMI-port that you want to use.**** ADAPTER ****This allows you to use more than one monitor for your device (probably either a laptop of a tower PC). This time you CAN have different things showing on different monitors. However, to really get this done you need to know that your graphics card can handle three inputs. I don't know a lot about this stuff, so I can't give good advice.
