I found this difficult to set up and use. The instructions are limited and the features were limited for me. My intent was to separate the audio from the HDMI feed between my cable box and TV so I could use a bluetooth speaker to listen to the audio. The HDMI cable do work as a passthrough. I was able to get one channel of the audio through at the 2.0 setting, I could not get get the 5.1 to send audio to a wired speaker. The bluetooth would not connect to my BT speaker in the way this unit pairs. I could see the unit on my phone and connect, but then there was no way to use the connection.Likes- The concept is usefulDislikes/Improvements- Limited instructions- BT does not pair easily with speakers- Wired audio does not pass all channels to headphones- Difficult to use

Instructions are terrible and very limited in what they provide. I was finally able to get it to work. I have a monitor that does not have very good speakers and has no output for sound. So I use this in between my monitor and a fire TV stick. I then was able to connect a Bluetooth speaker to it. That works very well. Video and sound worked well.

I needed this because I was extracting audio from an older device that didn't have an optical out I did not experience any delay. It was spot on. I have had problems with some of these things where there's a slight audio delay and compared to the video when you're watching them both at the same time. But this one does seem to be pretty good in terms of audio lag. Picture quality is the same as the input, so it's just strictly a pass through. All it's doing is capturing that audio and spitting it out to an optical out, a to. s link, if you will. Same build quality as you would expect from one of these smaller Chinese devices, all metal housing, decent quality ports. set up is a simple as plugging everything in.

I purchased a new sound bar only to discover I couldn't connect it to my somewhat older TV because it lacked the right outputs. By running the signal from my Roku through this audio splitter, I am now able to use the sound bar with my TV--at least for anything I'm streaming, which is basically how I watch all my television.Knocking a star off this because the instructions are so limited and unhelpful, so it took me much longer than it should have to get everything work. And I never could figure out the Bluetooth, but using the optical connection did the job.
