Company does not respond to emailed requests to resolution. Junk product. There is a burr on the seals. Guess what, this flaw prevents a seal. I didn’t notice this until i had already removed my 20 year old seals that eventually had a little leak. That’s right. The original seals lasted 20 years. These leaked instantly. I anticipated this leak once I rubbed my finger on these seals to Pre lubricate them and felt the Nick / burr on the seals. And yes, you can return them in the short warranty window. Unfortunately, you would end up emptying the hydraulic system, completely refilling it with air. New seals need to be on hand to start this project in order to avoid an air filled hydraulic system. Bleeding the system of air even though I had the new seals handy is a royal pain and is time consuming.Tip of the day. Once you purchase good seals from someone else. Use Marvel Mystery oil instead of the crazy expensive SeaStar hydraulic oil. Thank me later. Also... Poke a small hole in the bottom of the fill bottle to speed up the air bleeding process. My time and use of the expensive SeaStar hydraulic oil was completely wasted by purchasing these inexpensive, but “costly” junk seals.DO NOT PURCHASEDO NOT PURCHASEDO NOT PURCHASESeriously!

Super fast delivery - same day . Removed old seal . It was showing wear on bottom . Inspected shaft by turning 180 degrees. Shaft had light corrosion . Boat is in SWF on the gulf . Used a jewelers cloth and paste to clean shaft . Installed this new seal . So far , working like a champ . Key is to determine why your existing seal is leaking .

Install the product about a year ago and initially it beeped but it was a slow weeping so I always carried a bottle of fluid to top off the unit as needed. Now a year later, and as the weather has started to cool here in Texas, took the boat out last week, and as I turned the steering wheel, I could see was the left seal, and the right seal on the rod just pouring fluid out. Not a small leak, but pouring out of both sides depending on which side I turned the engine to. Unfortunately I’m back to having to replace the seals once again. My unit is in great shape except for these terrible seals. I’ll have to look elsewhere to get something of quality that will last, don’t do it unless you want leaks

Bought this in March. Last weekend (aug27), while on our way to the fishing grounds, I noticed a little play in the steering. I made a comment to the guys the steering was acting a bit funny. It was needing constant minor correction to stay on course. This was the same symptom prior to the march rebuild. note: it worked perfectly for 5mo. We went fishing anyway. Bad move. After about an hour, the boat wouldn't turn right. The motor was stuck. The reservoir was empty. I added about 1/2 a bottle water to the hydraulic helm and got the steering working again. We headed back. On the way i noticed hydraulic fluid leaking (squirting) from the rod seal. Luckily we weren't too far from the ramp. This time i am going to replace with the seals with factory originals. They are 5x the cost, but whats an extra 100 bucks when it comes to the boat - lol. lesson learned (the hard way).

I was a little concerned after seeing a couple of bad reviews but decided to order this kit because the price is so much less than OEM. So far I'm glad that I did. I watched a couple of videos and went to work. The only negative that I have is that the white plastic sleeve that protects the seal from the shaft threads could fit better. My advice is to keep that seal moving over the transition between the white sleeve and shaft until you know that the seal is 100 percent on the shaft. It's been about a month since I replaced the seals and my steering is still rock solid.
