These patent pending Hazard 4(R) exclusive add-on's to our shell packs allow for the rock solid mounting of hardware and loads thereby expanding the usability of the pack shell greatly. They screw into the top and bottom HardPoint(R) grommets (screws and backers not included) and will allow the strapping down of helmets, skateboards, firearms, jackets, etc. between them using our optional bungee cords, 1" straps, paracord, etc. This is done by the variety of thoughtful slots and holes molded into the tough nylon construction. The slots are also designed to work with popular holster screw systems for the attaching of various index, nylon and leather holsters for knives, machetes, axes, radios, magazines, etc. The various holes and slots can accommodate photographic 1/4 20" screws to mount action cameras, articulating arms, lights, external battery packs, etc. And the relief groove on the back means that the screws or nuts will not stick out the bottom or catch on anything. Use our separately sold HardPoint(R) Screw & Nut Set and HardPoint(R) Stop Gap to screw into hard point system holes (requires 8 screws & 4 backers).

I was excited about these rails. I was excited when I opened the package. I eas still excited when I noticed there was no mounting hardware in the package. After I found out the rails didn't come with mounting hardware and they were sold separately, plus shipping, I was disgusted. I'm very disappointed in Hazard 4 and won't be buying their products again.

I had bought the rails for use with the Hibachi sling pack from hazard 4. Granted I did have to cut them down to size, and use some rivets (they fit like they would on the pillbox/blastwall)Aside from fitting them to a pack they weren’t meant for, they did work well as better hard points for clipping things to.

I kinda knew what I was getting myself into when I originally bought my Hazard4 Blastwall. It was way too expensive for what it looked like it was and I was aware of the fact that they are charging way too much for accessories and way too much for hardware bits and bobs to connect your accessories but I liked the idea of a slingbag that I could carve out a dedicated side entry for my camera and still have a functional backpack that I could wear on my motorcycle and liked that it was made of Cordura.I bought the side rails hoping I could engineer a webbing solution to strap my helmet to the back so I could walk around downtown without having to carry my helmet in my hand every where. Now the rails are identical they are not 2 different castings... so when you mount them opposite directions it looks asymmetrical. And you have to buy the hardware to mount them. This is when I start losing faith in Hazard 4. Their pricing really does seem almost like they are treating people like chumps. They sell 2 bolts, 2 nuts and 2 plastic covers for $5. You need 4 of them to mount your rails, plus 2 more of something to fill the other two sets of holes. So $36 out the door for the rails + $22 for hardware + 2 more of something = $58 bare minimum. I bought the rails and went to hardware store and bought 8ea 8-32 x 1/2" bolts with 8ea #8 locking nylon nuts for $9 out the door. It's not a very eleganty solution because the nylon locking nuts protrude out on the inside but still the Hazard 4 solution cost 244% of retail hardware store solution. Not too mention the bag really lacks functionality with just 2 giant compartments that you have to completely unzipper to access and in order to add functionality to the bag you are paying an extremely steep price on accessories. If all this stuff was fabricated/ manufactured in California, then maybe you could say this was worth eating $h!t on price but it's all made in China or Taiwan. If I had it to do over I would not have bought into the Hazard 4 system. I wouldv'e stayed with Maxpedition Legacy or maybe gone with a Tactical Tailor setup. Lesson Learned

Had to spend another $3 for the mounting hardware. This is just the two plastic pieces. So now I get to wait 3 more days before I can attach them. Lame. Would return if I didn't already have the bag. What a scam.

If you have a Pillbox, these are a must have. They add a ton of utility to the pack. Well made, and even though "they're just a piece of plastic", I find them to be worth it.Notes:1. GET THE HARDWARE KIT! These disappointingly don't come with any mounting hardware... That costs what, maybe 75¢ to Civilian Labs to add?2. M-Lock accessories (such a weaver rails) mount nicely in the center channel.3. Strap things down. These are hard, anything loose is going to make excessive noise against these.

This is a nice add on for some Hazard4 packs. Sturdy enough to use as grab handles to pick up the bag, depending on how much weight is in the pack. I just wished they made a dedicated left and right rail instead of a "one size fits both" approach. But that's just my OCD kicking in. Planning on lacing some bungee cord through them eventually.

Great product, and add on, to my Hazard 4 backpack.Lightweight, but sturdy build quality that adds no noticeable weight to the bag once installed. The only thing to be aware of is that you NEED TO BUY THE MOUNTING SCREWS SEPARATELY. (like $3.99 not a big deal)I lucked out and read a review that told me this and got them when I ordered the rails.Other than that, this is a no hassle way to add more storage to your pack and it guves the whole set up a little more aggressive look to boot!
