Step work as advertised and is durable. Beware, there are four steps and one strap.... Not going to climb very high with these. My bad for not reading / comprehending the details...

Three stars because the steps are very solid and the strap feels very strong. The cam buckle is a terrible solution and doesn't allow them to be tightened enough to get solid purchase on some trees with soft bark. I felt very unsafe on them because the steps wobbled quite a bit. I never felt that the steps themselves, the bolts or the strap was going to fail but instead that the teeth didn't bite the tree as much as I wanted.

The strap system to secure them is junk.Too much trouble to secure to a tree. I ended up using a ratchet strap and that’s not much better.Once you get them secured to tree the steps are solid.

The steps themselves seem well built. The strap they give you is only useable if you are just going to use the steps to hang gear off of not put your full weight on.The strap seems strong enough the problem comes as you can not get it tight enough to keep the steps from twisting sideways if you put any side to side weight/pressure on them.I bought a 1" endless ratchet strap that helps greatly with getting the steps tighter to the tree but still there is some sideways movement as the width of the steps is only about an inch wide and just twists against the tree bark.I think I am going to use another 1" or even 1/2" ratchet strap to go through the smaller holes right below where the main strap goes to try get the steps to be more steady against the tree.

Please do not buy these for saddle hunting. Like others said, they are not stable. The strap is inadequate and I have no idea how a company released this design. They have zero stability. They fold and move terribly. And are also noisy even with sound deadening measures. They ruined my hunt today. I was so uncomfortable but stuck it out reluctantly. Maybe they have other uses, but a grown man standing on them is not one of them. This is the only review you need to read if interested for saddle hunting purposes. I’ve been doing it a long time and have used many other products. I gave these a try. Big mistake! These are going back. I have pictures if Interested. Sorry Hawk. I hate writing bad reviews and rarely write any but these are bad. I know people like your products but this is a waste of a hard earned $50.

They shift around, but they will hold their place on the trunk. They want to roll under the foot. They lay on their side but they provide the foot hold the saddle climber needs. Light weight for carrying in as a still hunter, and they deply easily in the tree.

This are loud, not light weight, and not sturdy. I personally believe they are not safe to use with any tree stand or saddle system. The way the product tightens to the tree is poor and the footing shifts on your feet no matter what you do. Great idea, but the the product needs to be re-worked so the steps stay sturdy and in place when you stand on them.
