This worked great just as described. Very easy to use and clean up. The children love it and this grandma loves making snow cones for them.

I've been using this type of shaver for over 10 yrs. It's a great machine. There's minimal pressure that needs to be applied, to get the snow-type ice. I have had repeated problems with it not working. I change the blade, the motor works, but it won't shave. Their customer service is working with me now to find a solution. I use it everyday, year-round. It's just the best way to get a shaved ice at home. I'll update when a resolution to the issue final.

It works best for me if I pour the grape juice or Kool-Aid directly into the ice cup cop mold and freeze it and then run the ice puck thru the machine.Its wonderful to be able to enjoy snow cones here at Home and make as many as I want. The only thing that restrains me is having to wait 10 hours for the liquid to freeze into an ice puck and thats good because otherwise I would probably eat 10 snow cones per day (just by myself). These things are addictive.I was wasting so much money buying ice pops at the supermarket or buying Slurpees at 7-ELEVEN but this machine satisfies the same craving for sweet frozen treats.THe Kool-Aid is cheap but those snow comes are not as good as using REAL fruit juice because they taste watered down in comparison to Grape Juice. I look forward to trying it with Apple Juice and Orange Juice. Have only owned the machine for a week but I am already eating 4 ice pucks per day and these are a real treat to have when I get home from work.The machine is not too loud and it chops up the ice very fast, about 15 seconds. It does leave behind a 1/4 inch ring of ice at the bottom but I just put that in the empty mold to use for the next batch so there is zero waste.I will probably wear the machine out if I keep using it so often and I wonder if they sell replacement blades for when the blade gets dull. But the machine is under $40 so its a great bargain even if it only lasts me 90 days.Highly recommended and less calories than eating ice cream.

when I ordered this I was very nervous because my wife was asking for a different chewable ice maker and I had to convince her before buying this. Once we received it and just after the first use she fell in love with this ice shaver. It works amazingly easy and the shaved ice is much better than what my wife was looking for.By the way, we tried and noticed that almost any shape of ice as long as it fits inside the barrel can be used. You do not necessarily need to use its own provided ice molds.

It's very easy to assemble! I will say I don't see a huge difference compared to their snow cone machine, other than this one functions better and offers more when its finished shaving. I have tried thawing the ice for the more fluffy texture, but I don't see too much of a difference. I enjoyed this. Only down side is it is extremely loud, but that isn't something you can really control.

Bought this for my parents who wanted an ice shaver but didn't want the manual use ones where you have to use a hand crank to grind the ice (they're in their 60s). It works well and it is easy to use. Would recommend this to anyone who would like an electric ice shaver that is worth the cost; for a home use one, it is neither expensive or cheap in quality.

Bought this based on the reviews. First time I used it, it overheated and stopped working almost immediately. I thought it was dead. I let it cool off and was surprised it began working again. Lesson learned. You have to run it in short bursts. Letting it cool between. At first it shaved super thin snow, but I noticed it's been getting thicker with use. Possibly due to the blades dulling. I am afraid to try to adjust the blade, as it is basically mounted onto the plastic body with two screws, that I am afraid I would strip out if I tried to loosen and retighten them, since they just screw into plastic. It came with two little cups to freeze ice in to use for shaving. I went ahead and froze a few extra's and put them in a ziplock bag. Helps to let the ice sweat a bit before shaving. I also just stuck the block under the faucet to wet it. Seemed to do the same thing. I think it just helps lubricate everything a bit. The little teeth that grip the ice block could be longer or more pointy to grip it better. Also the blocks could be bigger to last longer. Basically one little ice block makes one snow cone, and you only get two molds, which is why I froze extras. Also the shaver sits really low on the base. You cant really fit a large cup under it. I have been using a small bowl to catch the shaved ice. Kind of a pain to transfer it. So overall I was underwhelmed. It shaves ice. But overall it could use some improvements. Make it taller to accomodate a red solo cup. Mount the blade on metal and not just plastic. Make the gripper teeth longer and more pointy. Make the motor stronger so it doesn't overheat and stop so easily. Ok for the occasional snow cone. Not for heavy use. Not made to accomodate a big cup. If you want to make more than two at a time, your gonna have to freeze extra ice blocks ahead of time. Definitely NOT for heavy use.
