Received it today. It's solid and well built. Be prepared for a very challenging installation. I hired a handyman and we both struggled to hold it up and drive the screws through. It's a 37 lb. unit so it's not a lightweight to install. For the back screws we had to almost lie on top of the stove in order to see the holes. It's beyond me why such an expensive product does not come with a bracket that you first screw into place and then either clip or slide the unit on to the bracket. Kind-off a mini-split A/C unit gets installed or even Ikea wall cabinets. As far the functionality goes it's easy but annoying to operate. You first need to turn the display panel before you can turn on either the extractor or the lights. Why make me press 2 buttons? The manufacturer should get rid of that power button and simply have the display panel on at all times. The instructions leave out a few of the very important features such at the auto-off timer (hold the power button for about 5 seconds).I like the fact that you can steam clean the blades. That is a built in function. The unit comes with a water reservoir that you fill up whenever you want to steam clean the fans. The reservoir hooks on to the back of the unit and the process takes 3 minutes to do the cleaning.Another neat touch is the that lights are all the way at the front but angled back. This is a great feature for short people as it avoids having the lights shine in your eyes.

The Hauslane PS38 Range Hood has truly transformed my kitchen experience, delivering exceptional performance and sleek aesthetics. Its standout feature, the powerful suction provided by its perimeter suction design, sets it apart from other range hoods on the market. I'm enjoying searing steaks, high heat stir fries and Indian curries with no smell in my house. Additionally, its stylish appearance adds a touch of elegance to my kitchen décor. While there are a couple of minor issues, such as the clock losing a minute every month or two (easy to correct the time though) and the sharpness of the metal on the interior removable baffle, these do not overshadow the overall excellence of this range hood. The most remarkable aspect of the Hauslane PS38 Range Hood is its powerful suction capability, thanks to its perimeter suction design. It effectively captures and eliminates cooking odors, smoke, and airborne particles, ensuring a clean and fresh kitchen environment. The suction power is impressive, efficiently venting out the unwanted fumes and ensuring that my kitchen stays free from lingering cooking smells. This powerful feature greatly enhances the cooking experience, allowing me to focus on preparing delicious meals without worrying about smoke or odor issues. In addition to its outstanding performance, the Hauslane PS38 Range Hood boasts a visually appealing design. Its sleek and modern aesthetics add a touch of sophistication to my kitchen space. The stylish stainless steel finish seamlessly blends with the surrounding appliances, creating a cohesive and elegant look. The clean lines and minimalist design make it a focal point in the kitchen, enhancing the overall visual appeal of the space. While the Hauslane PS38 Range Hood excels in many areas, it does have a couple of minor issues. The clock occasionally loses a minute every month or two, which requires occasional readjustment to ensure accuracy. While this can be slightly inconvenient, it is a small issue that does not significantly impact the overall functionality of the range hood.Another minor concern is the sharpness of the metal on the interior removable baffle. It is essential to exercise caution and wear gloves when cleaning to avoid any accidental cuts or injuries. While this requires an extra step during maintenance, it is a manageable issue that can be easily addressed by taking proper precautions. The self-cleaning feature is worthwhile - however please note it mostly cleans the fan blades so you'll still need to wipe down several surfaces.Despite these minor concerns, the Hauslane PS38 Range Hood has surpassed my expectations and earned a solid five-star rating. Its powerful suction, stylish design, and overall performance make it a top-notch choice for any kitchen. The minor issues mentioned do not overshadow the exceptional functionality and aesthetics of this range hood. If you're looking for a powerful and visually appealing addition to your kitchen, the Hauslane PS38 Range Hood is an excellent investment that will elevate both the functionality and beauty of your cooking space.

It took me way too long to upgrade our home builder special range hood. The one that came with the house when built was... just a piece of rubbish. After countless hours of research, I landed on the PS38 as the best range hood for the price. In my house we cook 3 (sometimes 4!) meals a day and the range gets used extensively. The PS38 handels our familys work load with ease. It looks so much more modern than our old range hood and the suction & sound is a night and day difference. Before we could hardly watch TV if someone is cooking now you can barely hear the range hood in the background, a huge difference. My only regret was taking so much time getting around to buying and installing this. Installation itself isnt too bad if you have a helper (really a necessity in my opinion.) and it simply plugs in where your old range hood did. This thing is also super easy to clean and the included light is just lovely.Would absolutely recommend to family and friends. While its not the most perfect out there, but for the price its a winner all day long.

We had an old non-vented range hood - yuck! This is the best upgrade ever!! On high its a bit noisy but really works to clear odors and grease and steam and doesnt need to be on high for more than 10 or 15 minutes. No problem.. Mostly we use it on setting 1 or 2 - Fantastic addition to our kitchen and is so simple and clean to use, to keep clean, we absolutely love this range hood fan. Wonderful engineering.Thank you.

Looks nice and works wonders. We have had 450 CFM before and it was not good for our Pakistan Style cooking ... so got this 950CFM and it works great. No more smoke or smell. Even the sound is same as 450 one. So all in all a great buy.Covers the whole range. The cleaning function is good but needs to use it twice atleast to get a good clean.Lights are very nicely places and covers the whole area.Very heavy in terms of weight. So you will requires atleast two for installation.Delivery was fast but it was heavy for one person to get in the house.Works great and does what it was bought for :)

This is an excellent range hood at a fair price. The fit and finish is pretty good. I love the clock display because it's bright with a clear font. Hopefully it doesn't have issues as others have experienced. I went from a non-vented microwave to this range hood and it works better than I expected. The cooking smells have been drastically reduced and the cooking area is staying grease free. The exhaust is very powerful. It kicks up dust outside when it's on max from 12 feet high. It's almost like a leaf blower mounted on the side of my house.I do wish it was a higher quality stainless steel because magnets do stick to it which tells me some money was saved in its construction. That's reflected in its price, but I would pay more for higher quality materials. The mounting holes were a challenge to access. Especially the left rear located next to the blower motor. I think it took me a dozen attempts to get my bolt lined up and threaded through. It was frustrating, but now that it's installed, I couldn't be happier. This is a must have for Asian style cooking. I needed high CFMs and this hood delivers. I was skeptical of the perimeter suction design versus typical baffles, but I've found it's much easier to clean. Perhaps baffles are better for high greese content, but if your focus is eliminating odor then this hood performs great.

Very powerful unit and relatively easy install. Good, solid material used in manufacture of the product - does not look or feel cheap. Suction power is absolutely top-notch. One critique would be the LED pot lights don’t have a dimmer or low or high setting. Not too fussed about this though. All in all, very happy with this range hood.

Exhaust is strong. Quite loud but volume fluctuates with speed of fan. Installation required 2 people. Our damper broke because apparently we installed it wrong and something broke... Said theie customer service.I don't believe this because it worked fine for a week and a half before the damper then fell into the fan and we had to semi disassemble it just to remove it. Poor design.I wanted a replacement damper and was told that I needed to pay for shipping. That is kind of ridiculous!

This unit is fairly quiet, at maximum setting it is slightly louder but that is expected. On lowest setting noise level is barely noticeable, but still exhaust air very well for light cooking. Generally my setting is on level 4 unless I'm doing heavy duty working then I set it to max. No odor unless the wife didn't turn it on when she starts cooking, by turn it to Max then all cooking odour is gone. Now my neighbors know when I'm cooking. Lol.Installation is easy. I use the template provided to locate the four screw location and undercut the cord template opening because if you cut the cord opening as per template it's a little oversized and would not leave enough wood for the mounting screws to bite into the wood. My shelf where the hood mounts is double thickness and the screws just perfect length. I recommend if your shelf is single thickness I would add another board inside to make life easier for the installation.I use the screws provided and screw it onto the wood with a 1/4" of the screw head sticking out.Lift the hood and aligned the mounting holes of the hood with the protruding screw heads, and push the fan hood back to lock in the screws then using a long #2 robertson screw bit (6") to tighten the screws to the shelf. Voila' it's done. No need to have another person to help. It can be done by one person as long as you prep the screw alignment accurately with the provided cardboard template.Only negative side to this fan is the control for fan speed is not very responsive, and like all the other reviews said... setting the clock is terrible. Wish the steam clean holder/container was built in, instead of a separate piece which I have to find separate storage space elsewhere. Otherwise I'm very happy with the hood.Fan is easy to clean...used it for 2 weeks now and no signs of grease accumulation yet..... maybe because it is strong and blew everything out. Can't respond to the steam clean as I haven't used it yet.Hope this fan have some longevity.Well worth the price.
