I'm using these to damp vibration between an air compressor and the concrete floor. I'm not getting vibration in the floor, so it's successful.I do have a concern that I may not have used enough of these. Four of these guys are supporting a 200-300 lb air compressor, which squishes them pretty thin. On one hand, they're doing the job. But I do worry that they will deform over time, and won't damp the vibration as well. I wish I had used four times as many, or the equivalent area of a larger pad. But I'm not going to change it now.I'm going to guess that I have the pads loaded at 12-18 PSI. I would suggest planning on 3 psi, so 12 pounds per 2" square pad.For what it's worth, I also sandwiched the air compressor feet with these pads: one above, one below, and a concrete anchor running up through the center. They're fastened loosely, with a 2x2" steel washer and some locking nut, to make sure they don't vibrate off. If you tighten them down, you both add loading to the pad below, and cause upward vibration to pull on the concrete anchor, which transmits it to the floor.Holding the foot loosely between pads, allows the foot foot to move freely in the provided space, without coming completely off of the anchors.This arrangement seems to be working well, but does allow the thing to tip disturbingly far if you push on it sideways.

When these arrived they had a very strong odor to them but once they aired out, a few days outside, they no longer had the strong odor. If strong industrial smells bother you do not buy these. If they continued to smell after a few days I would have returned. So why 4 stars, they work really well in my setup. I use the under my Intelitek CNC, weighs around 400lbs, to quite down the machines vibrations. I had it on a wood surface tool center and it amplied the vibrations. After using these it has drastically cut down on harmonics, so much quieter - less vibration. I used all 8 of them, the mill support feet sink in a little bit still plenty of vibration absorbing material.
