The quality of the guitar strings seems to have declined compared to before. I recently replaced them with a new set, and in less than a month, the 5th string has already snapped, and the 4th string is on the verge of breaking. I love the sound of these strings, but the quality is just too disappointing.

This strings made me hear different sounds on my guitar, kind of mellow, and also I can feel it’s hand made, because of the sound.I can say Hanna Bach 815 my favorite nylon / silver strings.

I’m an amateur player and recently upgraded to a new guitar (a used Cordoba C10). Started playing on it and just couldn’t play anything the same way I used to. Finally realized the previous owner put on some super high tension strings that produced a great tone, but just made it impossible for me to play the way I could on my previous instrument.I bought these strings and my playing improved dramatically, simply due to the lower tension. These strings still provide a wonderful rich tone, although they seem quieter than the high tension strings I was using previously (which is not an issue for me since I do not perform). Strongly recommend these strings - super playable and great sound.

These strings sound great. However, one of the strings was on the short side. which made it a bit difficult to put on the guitar.

Good quality strings but be aware their mediums are equivalent to High or Extra high tension strings from other brands. Check the tension.

These strings were recommended by my guitar instructor when I found and purchased a high end classical antique guitar. I’m not a great, or even a good player, although I’ve played for years. (A spinal cord injury messed up my coordination, so I now play worse than I ever did in my whole life!)Anyhow, the guitar I purchased came with strings that had literally almost have never been changed since it was built in 1954. Yet, I’m disappointed to say that the old strings played louder and brighter than these new Hannabach strings. Also, the Hannabach strings, when new constantly stretch and stretch, so after each song or exercise, the guitar needs to be retuned, unless you don’t really care.I do like how the strings are easy on the fingers, and I’m looking forward to getting past the break in period of these new strings to see how great they can sound.

Okay...so I have been playing guitar for well over 40 years. I have been formally trained in classical guitar (music was my minor in my undergraduate work), though for the better part of the last decade I had been playing and recording prog. rock--stuff like Dream Theater and Planet X. I have always tried to acquire the very best instruments I could afford, so the guitar I put these Hannabach strings on is a Cordoba Master Series Hauser. The Hauser came with Savarez strings, but I thought it would sound better with a different set of Savarez strings on it--the 500AJs. I played and recorded a lot with those strings, but there was always the issue of the high E string sounding too tinny to my ear. Moreover, I am working on producing an album of classical music with guitar, double-bass, and flute (I am only playing the guitar on this album), and it has been difficult in getting the Savarez 500AJs to cut through the mix in such a way that the richness of the guitar can be heard. I had previously thought that because the 500AJs were brighter than most other strings I had tried over the years that they would cut through the mix easily, but that hasn't been the case. Additionally, to try to solve the problem of the high E string sounding tinny, I replaced just the high E string with a Di'Addario Pro Arte high-tension string (I don't like the way the Di'Addarios sound all together, but I thought that the high E string would be okay by itself). Well...it sort of solved the problem; however, in recordings, I could tell the difference between the timbre of the high E string and the rest of the strings, and I was still left with the issue of the strings not cutting through the mix. So...out of desperation, I tried these Hannabach strings, and I have benefitted greatly from having done so. The first thing I noticed is that they have a wonderful richness to their sound: if the 500AJs are "bright," these strings have a richness to their characterization that I don't want to describe as being "dark" because in this context that could be considered a negative word, but I mean a fulness that I have not heard in any other string I have ever tried. Next, they seem to be a little thicker (not so much the two top trebles, but the others) than the strings I am used to, and that is a welcomed improvement, as their tension is definitely higher than other strings I have used. This high-tension quality to them has actually helped improve my playing a lot, as I tend to have a heavy hand, especially on fast ostinatos, as in Barrios' third movement of "La Catedral," which has given me fits over the years as I have learned to play it, but these strings make it much easier to play because they don't flex as much as other strings I have tried. Finally, and best of all...I don't know how or why, but these strings totally cut through the mix of the double-bass and the flute on the album I am producing. I didn't think they would do so, especially because they are so "dark"--I mean that in the best way--as compared to other strings I've tried, but every note of the guitar is unmistakeable in the mix, and there is no having to turn up the volume of the guitar disproportionately to get the guitar to cut through. So...the bottom line is that I have never enjoyed playing my Cordoba Hauser as much as I do now with these amazing Hannabach strings, and the newly-improved sound quality of my guitar altogether has me seriously considering re-recording all of my tracks for the album, even though much of it is already mastered. Thanks Hannabach! I don't know if I'll ever be able to bring myself to spend the money to purchase the new gold set of strings Hannabach came out with recently, but after these strings wear out, I will seriously consider trying them.

I love these strings. I need high tension strings because I play hard and like a full sound. My teacher always made me get low or medium-low strings, but when playing forte and above, lows or mediums are just too elastic and slinky for me. These are absolutely the lowest tension I could ever play on when it comes to classical. If you are like me and come from an electric guitar background, these strings are comfortably tight, but still sound beautiful and soft when they need to.EDITED TO ADD: I just came back to these strings to compare the price to a set of Ernie Balls I'm interested in trying since I'm such a fan of their electric strings. I thought these were around $10. I can't believe how expensive these are compared to brands like Ernie Ball and D'Addario. I'm not a professional classical player and probably never will be, so I'm never spending more than $5 or $6 on strings again.I'm not knocking the strings. They sound amazing. I won't knock a star for the outrageous price. Who knows, the cheaper brands might sound like garbage and I might end up coming back to these. However, if you're not a professional player or a student who is working up to a recital, there are much cheaper and well-reviewed brands available.
