I had a huge bees nest in an oak tree behind my house. Last year, they never bothered us. Matter of fact, I could mow right under the tree and they ignored me and I ignored them. Live and let live. This year, they decided they didn't want me back there and after a couple stings, I bought this and hung one on my shed. Within a week, the bees packed up and left. I still can't believe that they moved that quickly and so easily!

As others have noted, these are essentially Chinese lanterns shaped like bee/wasps nests. They seemed to work well for deterring new bee visitors, and managed to survive rain and wind far better than they deserved to.

I bought these for my sister thinking she would use them as described but she ended up using them as lanterns and loves them! They were actually quite pretty much more so than the picture! She also said they’re very sturdy!

Just spend a little extra to get a sturdy one. These are just like paper lanterns you buy for parties, only ugly. Did not deter wasps at all bc wasp nests don’t sway in a gentle breeze. If anything it attracted them. I should have read the description better.
