  • A spectroscope splits light into a spectrum, showing dark or bright lines that help identify a gemstone’s composition (e.g., chromium in rubies, iron in sapphires).

  • 1.Transparent stones: Shine light through the gem into the spectroscope.

    2.Opaque stones: Analyze reflected light.

3.Look for absorption lines (black) or emission lines (bright).

  • Easy to spot: Synthetic CZ, YAG, zircon, and chromium-rich gems (ruby, emerald) ,Harder to read: Many natural gems have faint or complex patterns.

  • Yes! It helps spot synthetic simulants (like CZ) and some treated diamonds (irradiated). / Natural vs. lab-grown gems may show slight spectral differences.

  • Yes! Compact (55mm), durable (aluminum), and includes a reference scale inside. Comes with a protective pouch.

I am an amateur on this. I had to rely on YouTube to use. Still very shaky ,but better!

Disappointed that there is no scale provided, making it incomplete as a gemologist tool. But I may be able to use it with time.

Or aucun mode d'emploi ni notice.

Small and handy, I use it,for checking spectral output of modern lighting systems. Particularly examining high blue emission.
