Used with a young man with developmental disabilities who had difficulty working with the number line on paper, but excelled with this product. Provides visual, tactile and auditory cue and helping him to internalize the number line.

I bought these for my two five year old grandchildren to help with number recognition, counting, addition and subtraction. Both children live them and use them every day during our math time, so far for counting and number recognition. The sliding pointer is a big attraction, but it's also very helpful as it adds a sound and a tactile element when they move the pointer.

This number path tool is appropriate for use by early math learners. They are similar to a number line, but conceptually easier for the youngest students. I purchased a 6 pack for a small group of students, and all work smoothly. They are a great tool for the representational phases of addition and subtraction.

I didnt read the the product so it was a pack of six but I am glad because I bought it so my twin girls could use and I originally thought they would have to share. Now they don't. They are perfect to use when they do addition and subtraction.

Wow! This is EXACTLY what I was looking for to help my daughter with basic math for first grade next year. This makes addition and subtraction much easier than number lines on paper. I would have paid $20 for one but I got 6! Extra is always best with kids who lose everything lol. Thanks!

Having spent many years as a high school math teacher and math tutor, it is incredibly important to me to prepare my children well for the math that is still years in the future. As such, I am very particular about what manipulatives I use for early math education. When my oldest first started learning addition and subtraction, I realized that I needed some sort of number line tool in order to help my students grasp numbers as composites, and to give movement/ direction to addition and subtraction, thus paving the way for an easy transition to negative numbers and "undoing" operations. I could not find one, so I made one, but it didn't have a placeholder and the movement was just her counting along the line. When my youngest got to the same stage, I went searching the internet for something better and was so pleased to find this. My son uses it daily as he's learning his math facts and we both love it. Concern is often expressed that things like this foster dependence, but that has not been my experience. Gradually my son needs it less and less as repetition begins to wear a smooth path in his memory. My only request would be that they make one that extends to the left with negative numbers, but for now we just put two end to end when working with negatives.
