About this item

  • EVENLY TOAST BOTH SIDES OF BREAD: For evenly toasted, perfectly browned bread, the Hamilton Beach toaster is the best choice. Its Sure-Toast 1 slice technology provides balanced browning and color on both sides, even when you're only toasting one slice.
  • CONVENIENTLY TOAST LONGER SLICES: Tired of toaster slots that don't fit today's longer slices? The longer 6.5-inch slots of this long slot toaster solve that problem since they easily fit long slices — no more cutting bread to fit or turning it over to finish toasting.
  • 7 BROWNING LEVELS: The 7 shade selector dial adjusts to suit everyone's taste and makes it easy to create a crispy, delicious backdrop for a wide variety of recipes.
  • TOAST THICKER BREADS: Wider than the slots on many 2 slice toasters, the perfectly proportioned extra-wide slots easily fit thicker breads such as bagels and Texas toast.
  • EASILY RETRIEVE SMALLER BREADS: Toast Boost lifts smaller breads like English muffins so they're easier to retrieve after toasting.

The Hamilton Beach® Gourmet 2 Slice Toaster has Sure-Toast™ 1 slice technology to evenly toast both sides of bread every time. The longer 6.5" slots easily fit artisan, homemade and bakery breads. Includes 3 settings, 7 shade dial and crumb tray.

Bought a dirt cheap toaster at the store because I figured its a toaster and toast technology in the year 2025 should be a solved science. Well I was wrong and it was garbage. Got this one and I would consider it the bottom level for what is acceptable as a good toaster. Its fairly well made, toasts evenly, has a slide out crumb tray and pops the toast out far enough for you to get a grip on it. If it holds up over time, I will have no complaints.

Bought this to replace our old toaster. Who wants to do that?! You get used to a thing, use it for years and then nothing.Anyway, this is a nice toaster. Maybe not an heirloom but it toasts well, has a bagel setting that toasts one side of the thing, and a single slice button that magically does something if you only need a single slice. What does the button do? Who knows.. it certainly doesn't turn off the coils in the unused slot. But it toasts well and the slots are wide enough for bagels and long enough for my bread machine bread slices so I give this unit a bunch of stars.

So my $60 toaster just died. Needed a replacement but honestly it seems like all the toasters are mediocre and the more expensive ones dont last any longer or do any better of a job. I originally ordered a Bella single slot - it came damaged. Settled on this one - its better than the Bella brand in quality - its basic and worked just fine, until second 4th use. For context we are a 2 adult household so its not like this appliance gets used everyday. I plugged in on arrival and did a test run to burn off any chemical smell - I tried the single slice option and I was super happy it only fired up one side. I typically toast one slice more so than 2. It worked. Then I went to make a single slice and it doesnt work. It fires up both slots. Well that didnt last long to be on the fritz. I can live with it but its just depressing to know that all of these appliances etc are disposable items and we definitely dont need any more trash on this planet. Wish things were built to last longer.

From the multiple reviews of this toaster, it’s apparent that the darkness settings vary wildly from unit to unit. Recommendations for the proper brownness run from 2 and up. Here’s my experience with Earthgrains Healthnut bread, my favorite sandwich bread. At 3-1/2 using the single slice function, no toasting at all. Same at 4-1/2. At 5-1/2, perfection! Both sides were evenly and perfectly browned. For a Bays English muffin using the bagel function, at 3-1/2, no toasting at all. Same at 4-1/2. At 6-1/2, perfection! The cut side was evenly and perfectly browned while the bottom side was soft, warm and untoasted.I don’t have white bread to test, and you can take these settings as proper for my unit. Calibration at the factory may be an issue on this unit or on other units that have been reviewed, so take the time to experiment. As nearly everyone has observed, the toasting is slow. These settings were from a cold unit. Every toaster has a shorter toasting time for subsequent toast while the toaster is hot, so toast accordingly. Also, the generous 6” slot makes it ideal for longer loaves, like Dave’s and Brownberry. The proper dimensions are: W (at bottom) 6-5/8” H 7-1/2” L (including protrusions) 11-1/4”. It fits perfectly in my kitchen small appliance cubbyhole. My wife wanted simple controls (fewer things to break), and this delivers. Very happy with performance, price and quality. Highly recommend.

It has all the features that are important to me: *Sides of toaster do not get hot (top will as it toasts but it has not melted any of the exterior), and the hard plastic body is a nice 'flat black' color. It is no larger than a 'standard-sized' toaster and fits easily where I want it on my counter. *Toasts bread evenly. It takes 1.5 to 2 minutes to get 1 slice of bread lightly to medium toasted (level 2 or 3 on adjustable dial). *It has a "1 Slice" button that will adjust the center heating unit so that a lone slice will not burn as toasting. The "Bagel" button also allows for well toasted bagels. *It will easily hold a big bagel cut in half to toast, or wide bread- even a standard hot dog bun will lay sideways (no more standing up a bun and then turning it over and flushing twice!). *And, as an extra feature, the handle is designed to allow you to lift the bread higher out of the toaster to make it easier to retrieve a short piece (like if a piece broke off, or a half of a hot dog bun). Only thing missing is a "defrost" button, but that's OK- just turn dial to 1 higher level of browning.I would definitely recommend this Hamilton Beach Gourmet 2 Slice toaster.

Justo lo que necesitaba, con las anteriores tostadoras no me cabía el pan orowrt ni panes artesanales en esta sí.

After 30+ years, my beloved Sunbeam toaster is toast :( I had hoped to find a vintage version for sale somewhere, but no such luck. This is an OK toaster, and does a decent job of toasting both sides fairly evenly. However, as others have commented, it IS slow, and both slots heat up, even when selecting the "single slice" option. Sometimes, the bread doesn't stay down on the first try, but may need 1-2 additional tries before it does. The slots are wide and long - perfect for my homemade bread (a major selling point for me). It has a "tinnier" feel than my old toaster - lighter in weight and not as solid-feeling, but I do like the matte-finish sides that don't show finger marks (the ends are shiny metal, though). The cord is on the short side, as others have mentioned, but not a problem for my situation. I just hope this one lasts half as long as my older one.
