Bought this toaster after I decided I missed being able to make more than two pieces of toast at a time. Though it's a bit long in size and I'm struggling finding the perfect placement for it on our counter I can overlook that because this thing makes THE BEST TOAST! Waffles too! Crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. Soooo evenly toasted on both sides and it has a digital timer so you know how much longer it has which helps impatient people like me from popping it up too early. It even has little warming bars you can pop up to just warm things. I haven't used that feature yet but it's definitely a fun feature. And it's beautiful too! Very sleek looking and not bulky like other 4 slice toasters but it is long and skinny instead. If you plan on leaving it out on the counter just make sure of the measurements so it doesn't stick out too far. One star removed because the cord comes out of the front right corner which seems odd. I needs to come out of one of the back corners so the cord will have a longer reach. Not a deal breaker but a definite design flaw.

We've had this toaster a few weeks and like the performance and the looks. The sleek, dark gray (almost black) exterior fits right in with the granite counter and backsplash in our modern kitchen. Most alternatives have a stainless steel exterior but with our black counter, accents and appliances this was a better match. The rose gold trim picked up the color of our backsplash and with the lighted controls adds to the contemporary look. This was one of the few long slot toasters with the controls on the end, perfect for the way we wanted to place it on the counter. The long slots are great for baguettes, long bread slices or multiple smaller slices, rolls or bagels. The bagel setting does the inner sides only and I've used the 30 second reheat for some toast done early and in need of a quick warm up. Love the count down timer that starts out as the darkness setting indicator then switches to letting you know the time remaining. I've gotten my preferred medium well done toast using the 4 or 5 setting. Toasting results have been pretty even for me with the bread centered or placed at either end of the slot. I haven't had any bread or bagels taller than the toaster slots like some other reviews. A close look revels a mostly plastic exterior and I'm gentle with the lever after reading some users have had that come loose. For $45 this is a good value with a sharp look that's different from most other long slot toasters.

This toaster is great! The extra long, and wide, slots allow for all portions of the bread to get toasted first time, and the heat adjuster does an excellent job of creating perfect toast every time!

Doesn't quite fit as wide of a slice as I would like, but everything is working fine and looks good.

The Mecity 4 Slice Toaster with Long Slot and Countdown Timer has been an excellent addition to my kitchen. It offers superb versatility with its long slots, accommodating various types of bread and bagels effortlessly. The countdown timer is a very thoughtful feature, allowing me to see exactly when my toast will be ready, which helps streamline my busy mornings. The multiple toasting settings ensure that I can get the perfect toast for any type of bread, consistently delivering even results. The sleek design also adds a nice touch to my kitchen decor. While it does take up a bit more counter space and had a brief initial burn smell, these minor inconveniences are far outweighed by the toaster’s performance and functionality. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend it for anyone in need of a reliable, versatile, and efficient toaster.

After my trusty retro KitchenAid toaster quit unceremoniously in the middle of a toast cycle, I went online to look for a replacement.First, I checked the stock of local stores with good appliance prices, notably P.C. Richards, Best Buy, and Bed Bath and Beyond, but I didn't see anything I liked. So I came here to Amazon -- there's nothing better than the testimonials of fellow reviewers -- and scoped out the usual suspects: Cuisinart, Black and Decker, Proctor Silex, Hamilton Beach, etc.Imagine my dismay to find many recent negative accounts of the products of these household names, including toasters catching on fire, failing to toast evenly, and the like...Then I happened upon this toaster from an unknown brand called Mecity. (The box photo I have attached omits even that name, as you can see...)I liked the sleek design of it, and I liked the features, which were almost identical to those of the KitchenAid, but with some interesting enhancements, notably:1) Warming rack. I'm not sure how often I'll use this, but it's nice to have, and it deploys very neatly: the back of the toaster has a lever that looks just like the toasting lever on the front, but this one raises and lowers the warming rack with great precision. Neat!2) Digital countdown timer. The KA counted down in symbolic whole numbers, but this timer counts down in actual minutes and seconds so you know exactly how long you have to wait for your toast. And as other reviewers have mentioned, the toaster comes with a page of photos showing exactly how dark each of the 6 toaster settings will get your bread. Even more amazing, these photos are dead-on accurate!Otherwise, I appreciate the toaster's other modern conveniences, including the bagel function, defrost, re-warm, and cancel. All the buttons light up (or turn off, in the case of the cancel function) when you touch them, to confirm your selection. And let me return to the subject of precision. The controls on this toaster have a refined feel that even the mighty KitchenAid lacked: the darkness knob turns with a slight ratcheting motion that somehow inspires confidence, and the two levers for toasting and warming rack deployment also click into place with a grace Steve Jobs would have approved of.Finally, Mecity includes a one-year warranty and an email address where you can get support. I should mention as well that the instructions included are well written in good English, suggesting that Mecity might be a firm that knows what it's doing. So folks tired of disappointing products from brand names might want to give this generic toaster a try.PROS:* Handsome stainless steel design.* Digital minutes-and-seconds countdown timer.* Warming rack.* Bagel, defrost, re-warm, cancel functions.* Easily removable crumb tray.* One-year warranty.* Reasonably priced for a full-featured toaster.CONS:* "Mecity" not a household name.UPDATE (9/22/2022): I just discovered another clever trick this toaster has up its, uh, slots: if you make more than one pair of toast in quick succession, the timer will automatically start at a lower time to compensate for the heating elements being pre-heated. For example, your first pair of toast will take 2 minutes, and the next pair will take around 1 minute and 40 seconds. So your toast always comes out at the right level of "doneness." Neat, huh?
