Good quality tool and snap supplies. Good enough instructions to figure out how to use and apply snaps. Exactly what I needed to repair a well-worn (and well-loved) barn coat that had broken and missing snaps.

Tool appears well made and the snaps seem to be just as advertised

This kit actually is pretty nice, comes with a great carrying case and tons of snaps. Some of the parts are a little sticky from anti-rusting agents or whatever but it’s pretty self-explanatory on how to use the dies and the end results are great. I was able to fix my favorite flannel shirt and put new snaps on so it can be used again. This would also be great if you need to put a tarp on a wooden trailer, it comes with the snaps to do that too or if you want to put a tarp on your mulch bin, this would work for that as well besides just fixing clothes. I like it!

I am a person who is used to mounting buttons with a hammer, I saw this product by chance, I saw its package, I bought it, I wanted to receive it hopefully, in fact I was very happy when I got it, it wasn't until I started working on it, and it was so bad, it smelled like motor oil, and it was so hard to press, and I tried so hard to use it, and it failed, and it was awful

If I could give it less than 1 star, I would! Nothing more than a pair of vise-grips with brackets to hold the crimp die on. Constantly loses its tension adjustment and once you get it crimped, it locks closed requiring the jaws of life to separate the tool to use again. I bought this to install a winter skirt on my camper, five snaps in and my hands hurt so bad I threw it away and bought a better one. DO NOT BUY!

The instructions were excellent regarding how to adjust the jaw opening in relationship to the punch and dies. However, the instructions do not specify which of the two different dies to use for which snaps. I spent too much time figuring this out and test assembling some snaps. Afterwards I noticed an excellent instructional video in the Sellers Amazon description that I wish I would have watched first. I did not have it figured out correctly after all.I have experience with many other crimping tools and expect non-ratcheting tools to take more hand strength which this does. The strength needed is what I have experienced with other tools. If you think your hands may not be strong enough, buy a kit with a ratcheting tool.Installed snaps look like they were done professionally.I really wish the outside of the case was labeled “HAAKEN Heavy Duty Snap Fastener Kit” rather than just “HAAKEN”. This would make it easier to locate among all my other cases. I really do appreciate the hard-shell denier-like fabric exterior dual-zippered case. All the kit components fit inside and are securely held in place with elastic straps. The instructions in the case are a good reminder on how to install snaps.Likewise, I would prefer both the outside and inside of the parts kit cover be labeled similarly and additionally identify part names and what compartment they are located in. The kit has 15 compartments but there are only 5 different parts so only 5 compartments are needed. This caused some of my confusion earlier when I was trying to assemble snaps. I was trying to identify what was different about the “15 parts” and which ones to use. I removed all the extra dividers. The two dividers near the snap are permanent so I moved the dies into that compartment rather than storing in the original zip-lock bag (SEE PICTURE).

Everything you need to use to make a boat cover or anything that needs snaps if I had one thing to suggest is that the magnet for the base be stronger I almost lost the base three times the vicegrips could be a little better made but they did the job I would buy it again
