Excellent price and it works as advertised. Able to find high frets on my guitar. Definitely a must have tool for any wannabe luthier.

One, of the three, available, edges, was not uniformly flat. I had to fix that, myself, by running it over some 600 grit sandpaper, against, the edge of a bubble level.Reading the annotated markings, is quick, and easy, however; white lettering and numbering, against, a black background, is the way to go.

I use this all the time for set ups. Every guitar or bass player should have one.

My only gripe is it’s a little on the thin side. The faces all seem ground nicely and are smooth so it should glide nicely over the frets while using it and the measurement on the side are handy. All around a solid buy, you can get nicer rockers for more money but you can certainly do worse too.

This is a decent tool for measuring action and finding any high frets. After reading some complaints about bowed edges, I verified my tool on a calibrated granite flat and found the edges were all perfectly flat and normal/ perpendicular where it is supposed to be. I checked the graduations and those too are accurate. Lastly, the white text on a black background is much easier to read than black text on a metallic silver background. So mine works perfectly.

Fret rocket arrived and the first thing I did was check it out for trueness and flatness. It was perfect. No further mods required so it can be put to use immediately

Not sure why Fender MIM quality has gotten so strange lately. I have two newer (2019 and a 2020) Fender MIM Players models that have bad fret sprouting and uneven frets. There was a few choking notes on my tele. Using the fret rocker I was able to pinpoint the high spots easily to knock them down for recrowning and polishing. It took a few sessions to get the guitar playable but without the tool I would have had to let a luthier tackle it.

I used a Starret ruler that measures in 1/64ths and 1/100ths. I like my action at the 12th fret to be 2/64 between the top of the fret and bottom of the string. This is extremely low but can be done if the frets are flat.I measured the distance from the edge to the bottom of the mark for 2/64s. I was disappointed because it was actually about 1.5/64 for the mark for 2/64. But then I measured from the edge to the top of the mark, and it was as far as I could tell exactly 2/64. Alter thinking about it, this is good. The string will be in front of the fret rocker, If you were trying to measure to the bottom of the mark, the whole mark would be behind the string, and you could not see the mark unless the action was too high, and you could not tell how much too high. But since you will be measuring from the edge to the top of the mark, when the action is right, you will see the whole mark. If you see the whole mark and a sliver of black above the mark (between the top of the mark and bottom of the string), you know you are a hair above 2/64. I kept it and am really happy with it.The white marks/numbers against the black background is really important; it's very hard to see things this small and the high white/black contrast makes it easier, and that's really helpful.Great tool, as good as Stewmac's for $35, plus has all the action marks and conversion tables which Stewmacs' does not have.
