I wanted to put a roasted Fender Player Strat neck on a Fender JV Vintage Modified body and the neck angle was all wrong. The neck was tilted *away* from the body, so no amount of truss rod adjustment was going to help. (I suspect this is why I got a deal on the body). I tried using smaller shims, but didn't like how they indented the neck pocket, so decided to use a full size shim. The 0.25° shim placed with the small end nearest the bridge worked perfectly to adjust the angle so the strings didn't buzz on the 22nd fret. However, the shim itself is too wide and long for a standard strat neck pocket. Just to make sure it wasn't the orientation of the shim, I changed it out in all directions and still had the same issues.Unfortunately, the plastic is kind of brittle, so cutting/sanding is going to be tricky to prevent it from splitting. Since I don't really play high up on the neck, I'll probably leave it as is until I get around to taking the neck off again.

Years back with my last Squier Strat, I used a piece of credit card in the neck pocket to shim it.The thing never played right or sounded good and I blamed the guitar....sold it.Never considering I did a crappy job of getting the neck angle set right with my stupid CC-Neck shim. This Strat, I'm using these shims and its a COMPLETELY different experience!! My intonation isn't off, I'm not having problems adjusting the saddles, the sustain is where it should be even when the guitar is unplugged, and my tone is full and bright!Wish I'd had these with my previous strat, as it was an absolute tobacco-sunburst beauty.Ah well...you live, you learn.

Neck shims are exactly as described and the degrees are clearly printed on the shims so no guess work involved or having to eyeball anything. I didn't actually end up needing these for my project but still handy to keep around just in case.

Who needs wood shims when these plastic ones work just great. 3 sizes and easy to trim if needed. My Big Bay Taylor needed a neck shim (don't they all!!!) and the .25 was perfect.

Used to shim a neck on a Tele-partscaster I built. They are properly tapered, three different shims with different degrees of taper, so one of them should give you the desired "tilt" for your bolt-on neck. Normally the thicker end of the tapered shim goes towards the bridge end of the body....but after some install trial-and-error I found that reversing the shim in the neck pocket made my Franken-tele play just right for me. Old guitar bodies and newer necks can be a challenge. Good shims, instead of business cards, toothpicks, or other random spacers can make the job easier and longer-lasting.

Had to cut and drill holes for my 1968 Framus acoustic guitar. Cut easily with scissors and marked hole locations and carefully drilled new holes. Used the 1 & .25 to get 2mm of action at the 12th fret!

I like that these are black because I need one for a black guitar. Nice design. Precisely made. Good quality and well packaged.

I was able to trim out the neck of my guitar in about 30 mins. Having the 3 different sizes was great. I’ll be recommending here to others
