I won't walk my dog unless I have this horn with me. Great product. Small enough to carry in my hand or pocket and I'm still able to hold the leash handle to insure my pet is safe!

My buddy and I have fished off a Zodiac style inflatable (see photo) in Baja, Mexico for the last 30 odd years. We go up to 8 miles offshore in that little boat and it always makes us a little nervous (that's a good thing). We've had a couple or three break-downs over the years and always managed to make it back to camp. We are acutely aware that this is serious back country wilderness (no cell service) with only a few people here and there. Hailing help can become a matter of life and death if things go seriously south. As a result, over the years we have accumulated various items of safety equipment to include extra water, tools, spare parts, a flare gun, a signal mirror, fire starting tools, and a strong whistle. Because it is a small boat, space is at a premium. I spotted this Guard Dog Security air horn and thought this would be a nice addition to our safety equipment without taking up a ton of space. I was pleased to find that the canister plus the horn is a hair over 5.5” tall and less than 2” wide. Outstanding. At 120 DB I feel confident that we could signal a passing fisherman, even at a significant distance. I should note that the air horn comes with a nice little metal whistle which is better than my current plastic whistle. The price point ($16) seems a bit painful if you're going to just use it at your kid's soccer game, but for marine safety I consider it cheap insurance. Five stars.

This item does not stop a dog from charging at you. Do not buy. My friends dog kept running toward me while using this horn. It barely even worked. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

very loud. not sure how many times it will work before it doesn't work? used it during dog meet and greets in case one or both get aggressive.
