Float connected to the string moves down as the liquid level goes down in the drum. Change the water content of the float to suit liquids of different viscosities. For use with a wide range of liquids like water and coolants. Reversible display showing 0 to 210 liters or 0 to 55 gallons. Note that this is not a precise measuring device. The device is only to give an approximate liquid level to know when to arrange for a new drum.

Best product ever, it worked well for our chemical A and B drum. And it’s very acutely measuring the level.

It works well to show the level of fluid in the drum but it breaks very easily. I used it on drums of motor oil to be able to tell when to order a new drum without going over and tipping the drum to feel how much was left. The first one I bought broke when transferring it to the second drum. I thought it might have been my fault because I tightened it too much and broke the plastic. So I ordered a new one because it worked so well.I was much more careful with the second gauge, but the plastic housing broke after four drum changes.

It lasted 4 months. The float fell off. Its not even close to accurate. I had 30gal in my barrel and it was reading about 20gal. Then the face of the gauge fell off and wouldn’t move after that. Dont waste your money on this.

Worked well, when it worked, but the float has fallen apart twice. Fished the bottom of the float out of the barrel the first time and repaired it. I won't be bothering to do it again, and I'll definitely be finding another prodto replace this poorly performing one

While I cannot say how this would work in any oil or solvent tank, it works great in water in my Rain Barrel. I have the barrel set up at a vacation property with WiFi controlled transfer pump and camera. I can turn on the pump to water plants (via drip irrigation) and the gauge allows me to monitor the water level in the barrel - so I don’t run the pump dry.I did add a 3/4” pvc riser to raise the gauge up a little, as my 2” cap was a bit recessed. See photo. Fortunately, the cover comes off the gauge so you can make adjustments to the gauge. For example, adding the small riser required a slight adjustment. With the gauge installed and the barrel completely full, I just held the needle at 55 gallons and set the gauge back onto the gears and snapped the cover back on.Note: the float would not fit through the pvc riser. Easily solved by untying the string from float, passing it through the riser, and tying it back on to the float (checking that it was secure). My sealed barrel (Home Depot) has a downspout intake, so that serves as venting. Otherwise, the barrel is sealed. Why only four stars? During a major downpour, my barrel filled from 20 to 55 gallons in about an hour. When I checked it the next morning the cover and gauge layer had popped off. Not sure how or why. No damage, easily reinstalled. Fortunately, I was at vacation home at the time. I may consider an adhesive or rubber band to secure cover, as I cannot afford such failure when I’m not in residence.

Worked great, but didn’t stand up to the application we needed it for, tank in truck. Front cover fell off pretty quick. If you wrap packing tape around it would last longer. Gauge accurate.
